Novel Characters getting some love!

By Sir Orrin, in X-Wing

Hello fellow pilots!!!

I just wanna say I am SO HYPED that all of these characters from recent Star Wars novels are getting the love they deserve from FFG.

After Disney bought Star Wars awhile back There have been so many awesome new novels to read. Aftermath, Lost Stars, Tarkin, Catalyst, etc. After getting back from school i've burned through almost three books in just a couple weeks.

With 2.0 Coming some of these awesome characters are finally getting to be pilots in the ships they are supposed to be in, Like my man Thane in his X-wing and Norra in her Y-wing. And RAE-SLOANE CREW CAN I GET A HECK YEAH!!! If we get Ciena Rae in a TIE Interceptor my life will be complete. (Isn't it funny that there is a Rae Sloane and a Ciena Rae, both imperial officers, and in recent books? That's a great coincidence.)

Also hyped that Iden Versio is in a TIE fighter, and has a great thematic ability. Say what you want about Battlefront 2 but I love Iden she's great.

So, who's your favorite Star Wars novel character, and which one are you most excited to fly in 2.0!!!

Also, just for fun, what's your favorite Star Wars novel? I really enjoyed Lost Stars and the Aftermath Trilogy, but I just read Catalyst and it was spectacular.

Edit: It's Ciena Ree not Rae, coincidence ruined.

three things:

1: HOW COULD I FORGET THAT BOOK!!!

2: Please tell me we are getting Thrawn crew.

3: As far as original novel characters, Eli is up there on my favorites list.

Legacy of the Force is my favorite series.

Corran Horn forever.

Ciena Ree- When firing on an enemy X-Wing you may change all hits and crits to misses.

Miara Larte. A-wing and X-wing pilot and later a commander of a CR-90.

A rather obscure pilot but I just read the Ahsoka novel the other day. So still fresh in my mind.

Ciena Ree , not Rae. We have her in Armada - attacks against her are considered obstructed. I'd like to see her in X-Wing!

Thanks. How did I miss that? ?

Vowels, man. They'll mess with you.

Favourite novel character (that's not a film character), that's hard. Mara Jade? Most excited to fly? Wedge Antilles. This guy is almost a personal hero.

Favourite novel -- Rogue Squadron. For sure. I have a strange love for Labyrinth of Evil, too. The Thrawn trilogy/duology are classics. The Legacy series was conceptually pretty cool, though the writing itself wasn't my preferred style. I need to go and actually read through The New Jedi Order.

You mean they'll miss with you .. no moss with you .. wait .. mass with ? .. errr..

For me it’s Thane Kyrell. I really enjoyed his arc from Imperial pilot to Rebel defector, especially that he was recruited by one of my all time favourite characters Wedge. When he came out for the ARC I was a little bummed his PS was a 4 since he was an excellent pilot in the book. Now that he’s in an X-Wing at initiative 5 and a really thematic ability, I can’t wait to get him on the table.

Can we get something other than more Imperial traitors in this game? Seeing Iden in this game was down right offensive, especially at the cost of some of our classic pilots.

Though I guess hack writing and Star Wars go hand in hand.

Hopeful for Interceptor Ciena Ree, and perhaps Nakiri Kelen and the Desert Jewel may show up.

I'm actually happy we're getting Gavin Darklighter. That makes TWO Rogue Squadron pilots in E-wings. That nostalgic part of me is hoping for more of them with the E-wing 2.0 release.

With the Rogue Squadron characters, I would also love to Whistler and Mynock, Corran and Wedge’s droids. Or Corran’s wife in The Pulsar Skate.

But would be happy with new canon characters too. (Still want Tarkin era Vader in his painted black Jedi starfighter.)

I would love to see Garik Loran and see Tycho return but I really love the new canon characters

Ciena and Thane were the only two I was REALLY pushing for but I would also like to see Kendy and the rest of Corona show up in Xwing.

Other characters I want

Miara Larte

Ahsoka (again yes)

and for the Resistance faction

Joph Seastriker and Greer Sonnel would go super well

Evaan Verlaine.

Comics character more than "novel" per se, but whatevs.

She's dressed in exactly the same outfit Luke wears at the end of ANH.

Her ability isn't too amazing. Basically, she's got 1E elite upgrade Bodyguard, but can spend a focus to increase her own agility. It's statistically better on 1 green for pure defense to roll another die, but better on 2 green dice to keep a focus. However, Bodyguard can be surprisingly effective, and depending on points she might be a good upgrade over a generic ship. It's also highly thematic, since she was kinda Leia's bodyguard in the comics.

Props and a like to anyone who knows who this is.
