Release date?

By VAYASAN, in Heroes of Terrinoth

The article ive seen says 3rd quater, so in theory that could be anytime from net week onwards..... ?

Has anyone heard anything more concrete at all on when this might be appearing?

Not played anything like this before but having played Descent, im interested and will probably get it.

I'm assuming some copies will be available at GenCon, and in the stores immediately after? It's a speculation of course, based on similar patterns seen in the past

GenCon seems reasonable. We'll almost assuredly see at least a couple more preview articles between now and release.

It's showing as 'in development', not 'at the printer' or 'on the boat'. As this doesn't look like it has any plastic, they could print it in the US to speed things along, but unless they do that, I wouldn't expect it before late August.

Well, they could stick the Uthuk on the oars of that boat, I suppose; that would speed things along, assuming they don't kill all the rowers on the way over.

As of late the Upcoming section of the site meant almost nothing I'm afraid. We had products staying on the boat for up to 16 months, products said "awaiting reprint" while they were developing a new edition of the game, and so on.

Over at Boardgamegeek one of the guys who developed the game posted last week that the game is done and currently at the printers. I'm hoping for copies to be available at Gen Con so I can grab one there as well. We shall see.

It just got on the boat. IF this runs the usual time (and no guarantees there), it should probably hit the stores late in October or early in November, at least in the States.

The game mat isn't on the upcoming page. I hope it releases at the same time because I plan on ordering them in one shipment.

Speaking of the game mat, have you all seen the product page? It's huge!

" Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the Heroes of Terrinoth Gamemat !

This 26’ x 26’ gamemat is for use with Heroes of Terrinoth , a cooperative card game of questing and adventure. This gamemat features a map of Terrinoth, handy for any adventures. More importantly, it also features locations for quest sheets, enemy cards, location cards, exploration cards, and the nemesis lair. Each of these will be essential in the challenges to come, and the Heroes of Terrinoth Gamemat keeps them close at hand!"

Regards the play mat showing places you go etc...wont this all be covered by game cards/tokens etc during play?

I don't think they ever intended the map to actually be used in the game. The line about a map being "hansy for any adventurers" is more just for flavor and theme than for any mechanics. Like you said, the locations will all be covered up by cards.

It’s a nice touch

I'm actually pretty interested in the map. Although I guess the Terrinoth RPG has a map in there I've not seen that so I've still not actually seen a reasonable map of the world for the games.

The map in Realms of Terrinoth is better because it has place names on it. Actually, I should say "maps" because the different parts of the map are split up throughout the book so they could put more detail on it. The playmat is missing most of the Aymhelin forest as well as Isheim, Zanaga, the molten Heath, the Sunderlands, and that western peninsula whose name I always forget. But these decisions makes sense when you consider that Heroes of Terrinoth is really about Terrinoth and not the whole of the world Mennara.

Any word/heads up when release is yet?

If it was 3rd Qtr, we are running out of time to be within that(very unlikely to be now id say?)

Take this with a grain of salt the size of the hope diamond, but a couple of online retailers are listing September, with Cardhaus estimating September 30th ship date. If Heroes is on the same container ship as the next two Star Wars Legion releases, then maybe? (Spanish FFG site has those down for the 28th.)

If it went to shipping Thursday I could see it... wait no. Usually once it goes to shipping it’s 2 weeks. But the upcoming page has been slightly less then reliable

It's kind of weird they're trying to launch a new flagship product and don't seem to be talking about it much, but then again I imagine all their Star Wars stuff is much bigger for them.

It doesn't much matter to me since this is my Christmas present this year. As long as it gets here by December 25th, I'll be satisfied.

I'm still thinking late October for this one. If they can manage that, it will still be amazing that they came as close as they did to their Q3 release goal. I feel like they're usually about a quarter behind.

I noticed 2 things.

1- the most recent article on the FFG site didnt mention qtr3.

2- ~My order at Chaos Cards (UK) no longer says Qtr 3 and now shows ' Release Date : DELAYED'

There are pre-release events in Europe through mid-November, so I wouldn't expect it before then. On the other hand, mid-November would catch the Christmas season, and FFG seems to really be pushing this game right now, so that's when I'm expecting.

If FFG/Asmodee are trying for a simultaneous worldwide release, as with the Legion stuff, then according to the Spanish FFG site the targeted release is Q1, 2019. I've noticed FFG frequently misses holiday releases, which seems like bad planning in my opinion? I guess they try for the post-holiday crowd, people who have money from returning presents/the gift of cash. ?

Yeah, they do miss those holiday dates, don't they. I remember BattleLore: Second Edition was anticipated before Christmas but instead released the week after. I picked it up in January. (Great game, by the way.)

According to amazon: december 31! ?

As I've stated in the past, amazon listings are terrible places for release information. Amazon does not allow the sellers to list the items without a release date so they frequently make one up for FFG products then change the listed date when their initial guess is definitely wrong, or the official release is announced.

Would be a real shame from my point of view to miss xmas...Im 45 bloody years old, but at Xmas I like to relive my childhood still and get something I can unwrap and 'play with' over the coming week of drinking and lazying around the house.

Had this pencilled in as the game of choice.
