Does saber swarm with one single bladed lightsaber?
also
just a question about the linked quality in general without saber swarm.. can that also work with one single bladed lightsaber or do you need 2 lightsabers/double bladed lightsaber?

Are these two different questions or the same question asked in two different ways?
The answer is yes: Saber Swarm gives a single-bladed lightsaber the Linked quality.
Same answer as when you asked last week :
it is obviously 2 different question..
1- asking about saber swarm
2- asking about just the linked quality without the saber swarm talent
Thank you for answering question 1 it is much appreciated.. what about question 2?
@Darzil if you ACTUALLY reread that question NO ONE EVER actually states that it can be used with one single bladed lightsaber..
PLUS I did ask a second question
so both are valid
Edited by LordEnforcerIf you had a single bladed lightsaber that had the linked quality, then it could have the linked quality. I'm not aware of one offhand, other than using a one handed lightsaber with Saber Swarm.
Arguably Saber Swarm could only be used with a one handed lightsaber, as it gains the Linked quality, and two handed ones have it already. I would personally rule that as crap and say that Saber Swarm in that case overwrites the existing Linked quality.
Edited by Darzili thought you needed a second weapon to have a linked quality! Linked usually means attached to something else.
Actually, normally linked is with one "weapon system", typically a vehicle weapon where holding down the trigger fires more than on barrel at the same target, but also two handed weapons with two striking surfaces. Two weapons usually is two weapon fighting.
So saber swarm is explicitly something different (hitting mulitple times in a flurry with one), so is unlikely to have as it's requirement use of a weapon that already has it.

Linked, in most cases, means that there is more than one thing that can hit a target. In terms of multibarelled weapons then it's a hit by another barrel that is also firing. In terms of melee weapons it means that there are two ends that can hurt someone, since they only have linked 1. We see this with double bladed vibroswords, electrostaffs and double bladed light sabers. Saber swarm gives linked to whatever lightsaber you're using though, because you're flipping around like a mad green little bugger and flourishing the saber all over the place.
So, to answer the questions, if I can figure out the intent behind them.
1. Jesus Christ man. Yes it works with a single bladed regular old light saber. It gives the iteam the quality, regardless of if it had it before or not.
2. No, linked does not work with a single weapon. Nor does it work if you have two weapons in different hands. Then it's dual wielding, which upgrades the dice pool with one additional purple die. 2 advantages to activate a hit with the secondary weapon. You can only hit the original target. If you want linked on regular attacks you need to use one of the weapons that provide you with linked. Like the double bladed lightsaber.
Hope that was helpful. Also, try reading through your text in the future. That might make it easier to figure out what you're actually asking.
Linked works with any weapon that has the quality. Generally it refers to multiple barrels/blades that can hit. In saber swarm's case it simply gives any lightsaber attack the linked quality equal to the users force rating. So, whether it's a vanilla saber, two bladed saber, or guard shoto, the attack has linked equal to your force rating. Meaning someone with FR1 can make up to 1 extra hit for 2 advantage. Someone with FR3 can make up to 3 extra hits for 2 each. The two bladed saber will have it's own linked quality overwritten by saber swarm, they don't combine.
As for your second question, there are few weapons with linked. Most are twin bladed or double barreled. But mechanically, nothing stops a single blade/barrel from having linked besides that none have them currently outside of granted through talents.
disregard.
Edited by General Zod@LordEnforcer it seems you do tend to ask questions in confusing ways. I don't mean to offend or presume, but if you are asking for help or understanding, it can sometimes be effective to give some of your reasoning behind the question. Such as,
"The way I read it, you need two weapons for the Linked quality to work. This is based on the rules from (page number) under (section header). But Saber Swarm seems like it might work with only a single bladed lightsaber, the way it's worded. So, I have two questions..."
That way, you don't have to get in shouting matches with people who don't understand your question.
Plus that, if you verbalize your own thought process, it can have the double effect of 1) leading to better understanding of the rules for yourself and 2) giving other people some insight into the thinking of others, so that GMs can make better rulings on the fly in their own games.

And many times, it's better to wait and make a more coherent/thought-out post when you have the time to do so, rather than firing off a string of rushed threads and half-formulated questions.
As for "directness" and "rudeness," I can see where folks are getting annoyed/exasperated with you spouting off these sorts of threads when 9 times out of 10 the answer can be found by simply reading the book. It frankly reeks of laziness on your part that instead of doing the research yourself, you just simply start up a new thread that could be easily answered if you put a little time and effort into researching the matter yourself by checking the book.
The questions asked here were already answered in the previous topic. My post for instance, covers that you can use saber swarm with a single bladed lightsaber and that it is arguably the best choice for saber swarm. If you can use Saber Swarm with a single bladed saber, then that covers your question about the Linked Quality, since that is the entire benefits of using Saber Swarm. Might be best to try and read the responses more thoroughly next time because that might answer some of your additional questions and halt the need of posting more topics about the same subject.

Sometimes i do not have tons of time to research... So pardon me.. Lol
I come in to ask questions.. I appreciate any and all answers..once again..maybe i should search more but my life is stretched very thin at times..
And honestly i apologized once.. If you are unhappy that i have not done my due diligence do not answer me or point it out to me..
If i read something even if someone has answered it before..i will either not answer or provide the link to the answer..
But the piling on calling me lazy and what not just makes my response where you can go and how you can get there..
I'm not calling you lazy.
It does look like you're spamming the forums with questions you've already gotten answers to, from my perspective.
Seeing some of the other responses here, I would guess it's a feeling that is shared among some of the more active community members.
For myself, it also makes me less inclined to answer questions again when someone ignores the answers they were given and posts a new topic on the same subject.
You can respond with excuses which is going to further disinterest ones such as myself from trying to help you out when you ask for it in the future, or you can accept that if you want answers you have to be willing to actually read them.
I'm not interested in doing any work and I'll probably insult you if I don't like your answer, or if you call me out in any way shape or form, but can you guys please answer my question I could easily look up myself? Also, go krif yourselves.
LordEnforcer, you are the only person that brings in any hostility to your topics. Every time someone tries to help you or tries to understand what your aim is, you typically go on the defensive and attack the individual. Also, several of your questions don't seem to be about vaguely written rules or conflicting rules set. They have all be easily answerable by reading the entry. For a person that claims to have "little time to look at the books" you sure took the time to type out Saber Swarm's rules entry in it's entirety and also plenty of time to ask repeat questions.
The perception you are giving multiple people is the one that everyone has mentioned and they are caused by your actions, not other people's responses.
lol..thank you
