Depending on how release dates are scheduled relative to major tournaments, holding off point values and slots until release date might provide a pretty big competitive advantage to playtesters.

If everybody has 2-3 weeks to come up with squads except a select group which has several months, it's not really a level playing field, is it?

Well that's assuming playtesters get to know the points values in the first place, which is not a given. It could easily be done as "play these cards to make sure they're mechanically sound, oh and let us know what points you think is reasonable", with the published points values never provided to them.

That would be a terribly inefficient way to play test IMO. Without knowing the exact points and slots, at least for the iteration you are play testing, you won't be able to meaningfully play test squads, because you'd be completely unsure if a certain combo fits into 200 points or not.

Some fun new tools right there! Suddenly the 2 primary does not seem bad, given all the ways to either get rerolls or extra dice.

Lando crew will be useful on many ships, pseudo flexible TL. Looks especially interesting on a low Initiative Reinforce e.g. Kooshka Frost. Use the reinforce defensively vs higher I ships attacking you, then spend the Reinforce token to reroll when you attack.

Reinforce on the shuttle is very interesting. I like the support potential of it, the ticking bomb is fun but the potential of Outer rim pioneer seems greater.

Sure it pairs wonderfully with the Falcon and especially with Han as pilot but if flown separately enables other ships to sneak around obstacles with less risk, and get extra actions from Coordinate. Curious about Assaj supported by this for example, but the dial probably means it's hard to keep up with the Lancer more than a few turns if you use the red coordinate.

What ship are you talking about? Neither of the ships previewed have reinforce:

Customized YT-1300: Focus, Target Lock, Boost (red), Rotate Turret

Escape Craft: Focus/Calculate, Barrel Roll, Coordinate (red)

Sorry, meant coordinate on the shuttle (kooshka/firespray still has reinforce which will pair well with Lando crew), will edit.

It should read: Coordinate on the shuttle is very interesting. Cheap support coordinate ship.

Thinking on it, that coordinate action on the shuttle leads to some decisions. Do you keep it docked, and benefit from the shields and pilot ability? Or fly it, maybe with the coordinate crew, to get the action, but risking the ship?

Why not both?

Start docked, use up the shields, then launch it for the coordinate/distraction.

Man, all the things I was hoping for and then some! L3 Falcon is exactly what I was hoping for, now all I need is IG-88D (Crew) and I'm all set for 2.0.

IG-88A + L3 Falcon with Lando/IG-88D Crew + Guri is my dream list right now.
