Genius was changed in an FAQ to make you discard the equipped bomb when you use him. For any other movement bomb its still just 1 discard, so this was more for Bomblet. He now also can’t be used when you bump.

Genius no longer works with TS to do a post-move Launch, but you can still pre-move Launch with just TS and a movement bomb.

Precisely! With Bomblets, Genius, and Traj Sim, you have three options for bomb placement:

1. Normally: 1-straight behind you, before you move.
2. Launching: 5-straight ahead of you, before you move.
3. Genius: 1-straight behind you, after you move, then discard the Bomblet (or a Munitions token, if that's relevant).

Of course, if you're using Sol Sixxa, everything gets weird
