Just gonna toss my store champs batreps in here. Will be flying a few different lists Im sure, as I can never stay with something for too long.

Went to first store champs of season. I was gonna take Fenn/Wes/Corran but could not find my flight assist-astro cards anywhere. So I was thinkin of taken Kylo/QD/Countdown but I had an itch for Poe Miranda (since Ive never flown either ship in a tournament), so I took the rebel poison.

I went with Thermal/Ions over bomblet because I cant find my bomblet card either ? Where the **** are they? All my cards are in my folder, or a baggy that is a *put in folder when get chance * baggy. Anyhow, actually like the control over bomblet, and never really drop more than 4 meaningful bombs anyways.

Game 1: Tie Swarm

I slammed Miranda fast and got behind/side of swarm. Made a mistake with Poe, and opponents dice were ON FIRE at the same time not needing howlrunner and just hit crit, and crit crit, and zeta leader hit crit crit. Poe is blanking or single evading and getting cracked and drops early. Its Miranda vs an entire swarm. I ion bomb Zeta leader, since he is pointing opposite direction and it keeps him out of fight for awhile, one less arc to worry about. I drop a cluster mine on one tie, two mines hit, opponent rolls double eyes both times, UGH, so I sabine howlrunner for 1. Next round, howl runner drops. Two rounds later I cluster another tie, 2 mines hit, opponent rolls double blanks both times, UGH!!! Im dropping bombs, and TLTing, and slamming. Last round, I need to kill one tie to win on points and not die. I have 3 hull remaining. I make a mistake and 2 bank instead of 3 bank or 3 straight. I kill one tie, and regen a shield. But Im barely in range 3 of 3 arcs and they all roll hits for days and I die. A 3 bank would have cleared range 3. i was a dummy. Oh well. Fun match. Loss: 49-100

Game 2: 100pt Miranda

My goal is to get the list to chase Miranda while she drops bombs. I CANT get snapshotted by Ezra. I end up slamming for first few rounds, and bring opponent into the rocks. Poe plinks shield off Ezra. Squad is all in on my miranda, and bombs begin to drop. I hit ezra with a thermal (2 more dmg). I tlt him for 1 dmg. He has 1 hull left and keeps chasing, and I ion bomb and sabine kill him. Low is turning around and Poe plinks a shield off Low. Miranda 3 banks, slam 3 banks right passed Low and clusters him for 3+1 (4dmg total) and Poe range 1 TL+focus and gets him for another 3. Low on 1 hull, and his miranda is flying right over the left over cluster mine next round, that kills low from sabine dmg. His Miranda finishes off my Poe. Miranda vs Miranda and time is running out. Time is called and I slam my miranda into his miranda to get the victory. Dirty, but points fortress vs points fortress. win: 55-43

Game 3: Nym/Fenn/Expertise Wedge

I slam Miranda to the other side of board fast. Nym splits and goes for Miranda while Wedge and Fenn go for Poe. I plink 1 shield from Wedge. Miranda gets into TLT range and plinks a shield from wedge. Next round, I 3 bank and slam over wedge and drop a cluster for 2+1 dmg. He uses IA to live, but Poe finishes him off. Nym and Fenn are going after Poe. Eventually I get Fenn with some naked Poe dice and TLT from Miranda. Miranda comes close to dying, but with 2 hull left on nym, a thermal detonator (1+1 dmg) from miranda finishes him off. win: 100-0

Game 4: Nym/Torani/Jostero aka Joustero aka Scum Alpha

I slam fast through middle of rocks while enemy banks towards rocks hunting miranda. I slam passed Jostero and behind-ish of nym torani and drop clusters in front of him but none hit. Next round he has to 1 sharp to not hit clusters, but is in range for an ion bomb, so I drop it and turn away. Ion hits jostero, Poe hits him for two and miranda finishes him for tlt. Nym and Torani kturned and now Poe is behind them, while they hunt Miranda. I circle around my clusters knowing they cant give chase, while Poe is lighting up Torani. Torani finally harpoons Miranda, then Poe and Miranda finish her off. Miranda is on verge of dying after a Nym harpoon gives her loose stabilizer and console fire. I just keep slamming away and getting stressed from loose stabilizer, and letting Poe go to work for a few rounds. Console fire fails 4 straight rounds, woo hoo! Nym finally finishes Miranda, but he has 2 hull left and Poe finally catches him and ends it. win: 100-55.

3rd place finish. Got range rulers and krennic card. ? Yay!

Store Champ #2

Was deciding between a new reaper list or to counter reapers as game night has been flowing with them. So I went with the counter. A triple auzitucks list I call:

New Wookiee Order

Wookiee Liberator (26) w/ Predator (3), Saw Gerrera (1), Rey (2)

Lowhhrick (28) w/ Expertise (4), "Chopper" (0), Magva Yarro (2), Multi-spectral Camouflage (1)

Wookiee Liberator (26) w/ Selflessness (1), Maul (3), Ezra Bridger (3)

Total: 100

Low has Expertise and Magva. Go ahead and attack him, please. Full mods, yes please! Multi Camo to shake off an FCS or two or can be a game changer by stopping a harpoon.

Lib with predator,rey,saw. Rey AND Saw? Um, yeah, it is awesome. Build up a couple Rey tokens, and use those early game to eliminate shields. Low and Selfless-Lib keeps you from taking hardly any damage to use Saw in mid/late game to drive in ton of crits. Best of all, you can bring rey focus down to cancel a jam token turning off Feroth, etc. Also, if you roll like three eyeballs, use saw for three crits, and thanks to Rey, you bank that focus for later.

Other lib is self explanatory.

All three wookiees have full passive mod capability, dealing with any jam, any sensor jammer, any fenn raus, even Ezras or Wes Jansons.

Round 1

Quickdraw & Vader both with Harpoons and Countdown

I fly up right board with 4 straights, vader and quickdraw left board. Im hunting countdown before harpoons come. Lots of range control then I get some shots on countdown but dice are cold. Both me and opponent red dice are ice cold, but green dice are smoking. Think we literally played 45 minutes and I had 1 damage on countdown and he had a plinked shield on a wook. Vader gets behind my wooks and I have range 3 on Quickdraw. Dice still cold and I plink a shield. All of sudden dice are getting hot at the end. One wookie takes a couple harpoons, I take quickdraws shield and another on countdown. Last round is crazy and vader kills double harppooned wook and splash damage takes out countdown. Quickdraw kills lowhrick, and my other wookie kills Quickdraw. Vader lives.

Had an early range 1 on a stressed 3 hull countdown and rolled eye blank blank blank and mauled into another blank. That miss hurt. Red dice cold for both of us though. Ugly game. Multi camo helped deter attacks on low.

Loss: 61-69

Round 2

Rey/Saw

Opponent started them off in separate corners. He rushed in fast trying to block wooks with the Uwing but came up short. All three of my wooks were range 1. Low erased bunch of shield, ezra sent a crit in, and Predator Wook Sawed for a few crits that 1 rounded Saw. Next round was about same thing on Rey. Two at range 1, one at range 2. Got through shields and sawed some crits. It was a crit fest and Rey dropped a couple rounds later. Game was over in about 15-20 minutes.

Opponent went for a wookiee other than Low because of multi camo. Didnt want to lock Low with Rey. I will take that any day. We had a lot of time, so we set up and went again. Opponent played it better this time, taking out two wooks and went for Low first. Still, my last wook got behind Saw and it was a crit fest.

Win: 100-0

Round 3

Chewie/Saw/Tarn Mason

Deja Vu?

Tarn dropped fast from my wooks. Three full modded shots with crits he didnt last long. Saw sent two crits into Tarn. I took chewies shields and shot at the uwing when I could getting half points and then chasing chewie hardcore. Saw lined up in my sites of two wooks and I take him out. I have a hurt predator/rey wook on 2 hull left and fly him away to preserve MOV. Low and the other wook chase chewie and end him in a few rounds.

Multi camo finally worked on tarn mason, but he just took a lock again on a different wook. For third straight game, opponents are not going after low first. Multi camo is magical? I saw'd a few times when I ran out of rey tokens. That was nice to push in damage. Ezra Maul was on fire versus low agility ships.

Win: 100-0

Round 4

Im in 3rd place overall with 2nd highest MOV.

Procket Inqy/LW Ryad/PS1 Reaper

Finally a reaper. I go hard and fast for the repeater, will be easy picking with this list. At range 3, I erase shields and get a crit through already. Next round, I take the repeater down to 1 hull left and send some crits into it. Damage sensor array, woo hoo. I am in a good spot to go for Ryad and I 1 & 2 bank wooks and she ends up range 1 of 2 wooks and range 2 of low. I get all her shields and a damage in. Next round, I 1 bank them all to where she is kturning and she lands range 1 of them all and doesnt live. Meanwhile inqy is hurting my predator wook. Next round I finish his repeaer. Now I have 2.3 wooks left but there is like 45 minutes for Inqy to do Inqy things. Im trying like crazy to get multiple arcs on him, or block him (which I do and plink shields). Predator wook drops. Selfless saves low after Inqy prockets lowhrick. Inqy finishes Lowhrick with 7 minutes left and is down to just his 2 hull. If I can get 1 crit through I have a chance. I chase him for final 7 minutes and last round I get a range 2 shot on Inqy but he is tokened up and I cant push a crit through with Ezra :(

Loss: 33-34

Man, such a great game. Really had fun with this one. I purposely built all my wooks to 32 or above for Inqy in palp aces lists cause he is so hard to kill with wooks, but procket inqy makes him more points. darn.

CONCLUSION :

So, got 6th place (and some more range rulers!) ending up 2-2 in two very close losses but had 2nd highest MOV of tourney. Lots of firepower from these wooks. Multi camo didnt trigger much, but it definitely made people target other wooks which helps me out greatly. Im sure Magva had a lot of sway in that as well. Saw was just stellar versus Rey and Repears, etc. hit and 3 eyeballs = CRITS PLEASE! Very cool wookiee list. Tactician was missed in the Inqy matchup though.

Experimental Interface lets you do an action on an upgrade card after an action (reverse PTL), and then receive a stress. So slam and then EI for a cluster mine + stress. Need to time it right so you arent stressed and then also in ezras arc to get double stressed, etc.

FIVE XWINGS.

Rookie Pilots w/ Flight Assist Astromech, Refit,Servomotors,IA

I tested against it, and played against it and it was tough as **** so I took it.

Every round, I setup in a corner: 3 up front, 2 in back

Round 1

QD w/ VI adv optics,Krennic Reaper, Soonitir w/ Stealth device

I come out blazing and reaper banks toward me. First round engagment and reaper is dead. Next round Quickdraw loses his shields while Soontir plays safe and plinks shield with OP. Next round Quickdraw dead. 5 Xwings vs Soontir and soontir cant turn around to get a shot unless he eats 3+ shots in return. Soontir dies.

Win 100-0

Key was to just get the hurt Xwing that Quickdraw had locked out of dodge, so his next rounds attack couldnt be modded. Mitigated lots of damage.

Round 2

Cavern Angel, Norra w/ PTL,saw,r2d2, Miranda w/ tlt, bomblets, rey

Norra and Miranda slow rolled opposite corner building rey tokens, so I took the opportunity to 4 straight boost a couple rounds and get the cavern angel before it could fire. Next round all my eyes were on Norra. She had no repostioning and R2d2 wont help her with 5 shots. I get her down to 3 hull left, but one xwing takes a beating. I get him out of dodge, and norra lands range 1 of 3 xwings and is erased. Miranda bombs and tlts another Xwing and its hurt, so I kturn that xwing behind my three healthy ones. If she wants that xwing, she is gonna have to take shots. A few rounds later Miranda dies, but does take out an xwing.

Round 3

Vi Quickdraw, Krennic Whisper, Epsilon Ace

Im not worrying about Whisper at the moment. Just wanna take out Quickdraw asap. I fly up the board and boost inward. Epsilon ace is on fire early rolling natty double hits and crits and im blanking out getting my shields stripped. I managed 2 rounds of blocks on Quickdraw while flying my hurt xwing out of dodge so quickdraw has no mods and it pays off as he rolls 3 eyes and a blank on an xwing. I lose an xwing, but Quickdraw goes down. I manage to strip 3 shields off whisper, then she is in a position to only decloak one way, so I 3 tallon to block her hard 1, while another xwing 3 taloned behind her for a range 1 shot if she is blocked. I get the block and whisper is dead. Epsi goes down right after.

win 100-20

Early was scary as I was taking a lot of damage. As soon as the scrum happened, and I got some blocks, then things started picking up. I took a lot of damage that game, but it was spread around.

Round 4

Rebel Alpha (Nym w/ harpies bomblet trajectory, wedge w/ protons, cracken w/ harpies)

I am scared. Not sure how to approach this list. Do I fan out and maybe leave 1 xwing to the wolves to mitigate splash damage? Or use my 30 HP to my advantage and just ****ing joust? I play the numbers and just joust. I play the range game first and only wedge is in range because of FAA and fires proton at an xwing and puts hurt into it, leaving it on 1 hull, but I plink a wedge shield, yay!

Next round is nasty for us both. I just get all my xwings in there knowing bomblets are coming, but I want to erase a ship. 3 of my xwings take double bomblets, but the numbers work out as I roll just 1 hit each time, only erasing their shields. Now I got a gun on Cracken (who ate a bomblet and loss two shields), two on wedge, and one on nym. Wedge kills my hurt xwing to finish him off. Cracken and nym harpoon another off the table. Im down two xwings, UGH! But, I take wedge off, and because cracken ate 2 bomb damage, I get him as well this round. Its now 3 xwings without shields versus Nym. It takes awhile cause I cant exactly chase him with bomblets, but I end up getting him.

Whew, that was scary game.

So, I am number 1 with highest MOV. On to top 4.

Top 4

Double reapers and krennic Whisper.

One reaper jousts me and lives with 1 hull. Whisper flanking. These reapers have intel agent and begin blocking my xwings while jamming. I know I cant really shooting at sensor jammer whisper until these reapers are off the board. My plan is whichever Xwing whisper shoots and locks, that Xwing is going to get to a place whisper cant. This strategy pays off as my opponent is shooting at different xwings. Whisper is throwing like hit, eye, double blank but cant reroll. So my xwings are taking damage, but very slowly. I get his reapers off the table and he gets an xwing, and have about 3.2 xwings left. His whisper makes a mistake and decloaks near my hurt xwing and thats all the info I need, as I turn and FAA backwards and focus. Whisper turns and misses arc having no shots and eats a range 1 and loses her shields. Next round I have 3 xwings on her and finish her off.

Finals

Deci w/ klyo,krennic,rebel captive and Vader with Vader things

My plan is to take deci down fast and have 4 or 3.5 xwings for Vader.

Opponent turns deci away from xwings and wants me to chase while he attacks the lead xwing. I see his deci will now have to turn around a rock, and this is my turn to get Vader, so my xwings bank towards vader and erase his shields. Deci is out of fight for about 2 more rounds just doing range 3 through rock shots. I get a block on vader and he goes down. Deci makes his way in and begins putting some hurt on my xwings. i try to just keep firing with Xwing #1 and just pile up stress on it with rebel captive, so my other xwings can sloop and kturn. I get some nice blocks on the deci and arrange a couple kill boxes. Deci takes out an xwing, but is soon down to only 1 health left and its got 4 more Xwings to go.

A store champ victory! Undefeated with the 5 Xwings. FAA makes them really fun to fly, and that 3 talon with servo sfoils is bread and butter. Its so nice having that as an option.

Great job! Well done! Did you open/close your wings a lot? I haven't used the "new" x wings yet, but I have played against them a few games and I didn't see my opponents doing it too much.

I really don't understand the formation flying people are doing with this list sometimes, though. Wouldn't the Nym/Wedge/Cracken game have been much less scary if you fan them out? I keep seeing the formation flying and wonder if their opponents are just jousting them. It looked like in a three of your games, someone just gave up a ship to you right off the bat. I'm baffled.

@gennataos Smart thing is probably spreading out a little but not too much, but I knew my HP could survive any onslaught. The situation I didnt want was spreading my own fire.

If only two shots land on wedge and another two only have nym in arc, etc. Worse case would be losing two xwings and another two not even having range to fire. If my ships are grouped, all three of his ships HAVE to point at all five of mine.

If I lose two, I wanted him to lose wedge or nym. I knew my Xs could eat bomblets and just obliterate a ship (i ate many from miranda, I just wanted shots on miranda and was not gonna not get shots on her for fear of 1 bomblet.

If they all lose half HP but I still have 3 or 4 v 2. Im cool with that. I didnt want two bomblets in a single round, but thats how it happened I tried barrel rolling out of range to only eat 1, but it was a millimeter too close. Averages worked out and only ate 1dmg on two dice for every roll.

The games where people fed me a ship were all ps1's. With FAA, not much they can do about it. I just get them all in range and unload. They can try and run, but once you turn a corner, your caught.

One reaper tried to fly passed my swarm, and without FAA would have dodged 3 arcs, but i just bank boost and get em all on arc.

The quickdraws cant do too much with just a b-roll, but one opponent was able to dodge three arcs and only take two shots. The other played range good and only took one shot 1st round.

5Xs is just lot of HP and red dice and now really manueverable. Against ps1 ships, with boost and barrel roll, its like other ships trying to evade soontirs arc.

Hardly ever closed them. Once in the rebel alpha game when I was stressed and needed a green 2 bank + boost to block wedge. And one other time when I was stressed and needed to get away from whisper. Those were the only two times I ever closed them.

That's probably their biggest edge over strikers; you can eat one bomblet and no matter what you roll, you're coming out the other side of the blast zone broadly intact.

Well done!

And good work splitting fire. It's a key thing with a heavy swarm - if I get caught with one striker battered and FCS-locked, that one tends to hit the gas for the border and evade; the nice thing is that with 4 guys still combat-ready, turning to pursue is rarely a good plan for your opponent.

And yes, whilst you may not get double-modified attacks, the sheer punch of 5 3-dice attacks is something people really don't expect.

35pt VI Vader

x2 32pt Rho Gunboat w/ crackshot, HLC, Linked Battery, LRS

This particular list has been on my to-do list. I won a store chanps already (see above), so right now I am looking to have fun, but still be competitive.

Carpooled with a player from my LGS, and we drove 1.5 hours for this SC. A whopping 7 people (including us two) showed up.

Round 1 - bye

1-0, just two more and I win!

Round 2

Kylo,Quickdraw,Dark Curse.

Newer player who didnt have optimized ships. Kylo had expertise/fcs, and quickdraw had accuracy corrector along with expertise.

My HLC gunboats go for kylo and get him down to 2 hull left while one gunboat loses shields. Im cautious with vader and slow roll him into combat. Next round a gunboat blocks kylo, the hurt one slams away. Vader sends a crit into kylo (console fire).

Next round my boats slam and turn around. Quickdraw no shot. Kylo risks the crit and boosts to get a shot on hurt gunboat, but console fire finishes kylo off first.

My boats 2 sharp and both have quickdraw in range and put some hurt on him. Vader finishes quickdraw next round, then its just down to dark curse who eventually dies.

Win 100-0

Round 3

Rebel Alpha

Its me and my carpool buddy battling for first place. On the way down I told him this list cant beat his list unless I have a lot of luck. I lose a gunboat before it fires, and vader dodging bombs and ABT from nym means he only shoots maybe every other round. Not sure I can put in enough damage before time.

Anyways, we are off. I bring one gunboat up middle, and another along the edge towards the joust. My only hope is to get him to bait and go 1 forward with his list while I slam away and flank with the other gunboat to hopefully get a free shot on cracken and kill him.

He doesnt fall for the bait, and turns to my flanking gunboat, while my other slammed away. So now I get no shots, cause my other gunboat is erased before it fires.

Game goes on and Vader is doing everything he can. Gunboat gets an hlc on nym though, and then blocks wedge a couple rounds helping vader survive, before he is evetually erased.

Nym on 4 HP, Vader on 2hp. If I can kill nym and cracken, i can win by 1pt!

Nym launches a bomb, forcing Vader to barrel roll into range 1 of Nym.

I roll 3 hits and the crit! Nym rolls evade, and lives with 1hp :( Nym ABT and rolls 2 hits. Vader dead.

loss 100-0

shouldnt have slammed by gunboat away. Just do the damage that I can. If he could have got 1 more decent shot on nym, I coulda won this match. Lesson learned.
