Who is passing on Saw's Renegades expansion, and why?

It is bad. It s a pretty big quality issue straight out of the gate for 2.0 :(

It’s only “a pretty big quality issue” if you overlook the fact that it was produced by a team who needs a computer app to manage its basic game design structure for them. Closer to the truth is this is a sign of things to come. Welcome to the new x-wing.

But it’s an issue that’s been fixed already. We have 2.0 content with 2.0 still being months away. The cards are worded correctly in the kits, so it’s fixed. And we’ve been playing with 1.0 having the wrong words and icons for awhile now. If they weren’t rushed so that people would actually buy Wave 14 (I wouldn’t have if the 2.0 wasn’t in there and I buy everything), the errors wouldn’t even exist.

Double post.

It doesn't change the fact that it's still sloppy work (FFG rushed it for slightly more $$$) and it's going to be right there on the shelf when 2.0 launches until wave 14 gets a reprint at least.

EDIT: The cards are corrected in the conversion kits (although the question on which Edrio Two-Tubes is correct remains as hevs in no conversion kits), but we don't l ow yet if all will be in Wave I packs as well. As such a new player might end up with only wrong versions of some cards). Not the most exciting start ever to a new game.

Because, especially with the new ideal of not having to buy every expansion, I will be flying Imperial and First Order exclusuvely.

I'm a big Rogue One fan, so I'll be picking up the Reaper and Saw's Renegades at some point (although my FLGS didn't even realise they were out yet). I'd quite like to pick up a couple extra Renegade X-Wings as well so I can run a full Partisan squad.

I'm not touching this wave until they are corrected in a reprint.

I’m passing on it just because I’ve already dumped so much into my 2.0 preorder. The wording on the cards don’t concern me either as I fully expect any corrections to be addressed in some form (app, reissue later when expansion is re-released, etc.) I think there’s to much doom & gloom in this community currently. Everything will be okay.

Re: X-Wing Model Quality

I have to admit that this surprised me. Like others, my Partisan X-Wing’s wings spring back a little when I close or open them all the way. I’ve seen and handled one of the promo 2.0 X-Wing packs that FFG gave out a little while ago, and that X-Wing didn’t have that issue. The open/close movement on the wings was neat and crisp with no springback.

So make of that what you will.

Yeah, I got to check out the 2nd edition X-Wing too and it seemed great mechanically, so these reports of the Saw's X-Wing are a bit of a surprise

I've handled enough action figures and other articulated collectors figures that I'm FAIRLY certain it's a paint issue. The only other thing it COULD be wold be slightly too much material on the wing bits inside the X-Wing. When I opened the pack, the wings were closed flushed and were kinda difficult to open. I'm hoping with frequent use, I'll wear away whatever is gunking up the works since I can't open these up to fix the issue directly.

Already have 6 T65s, and I dislike the renegade's color scheme. So I will probably end up getting a second 1.0 U-wing once the shops begin to drop them on sales because of 2.0 :)

While its true that the errors might not have an impact, the fact remains that there are errors and therefore a quality issue. Once quality is down anything can happen. Customer expectations is to get a correct product, specially if you pay good money for it.

The biggest concern is just how sloppy the whole thing is and the evidence of a fairly bad planning job from the part of FFG. It might be a sign of things to come and surely a sour first impression. As others have stated, the app has indeed positive things but also gives opportunity for more sloppiness, not less.

Time and time again it has been demonstrated that creating a loyal client-base pays more dividends in the long run on any business than a quick cash input. FFG seems to be forgetting this. Having taken a few extra months to push Saw's and Renegades (even 2e) might have delayed revenue for a bit but helped release things right. Stock-holders do not aim the long run, they just want to make some quick profit, then move along to where they can make another quick profit. Stock trades, companies rise and fall.

It's up to us to decide whether FFG is still creates a product we are willing to buy and use/correct this product to fit our needs. This "byproduct" of the hobby, tweaking the game to fit your needs, can be fun in its own right. However, tweaking is not for everyone and can surely alienate customers.

Personally I pre-ordered Saw's and the Reaper, one each, not delivered yet. I have cancelled my pre-order of 2e conversion kits (was planning on one each). I'll come back in a year or two to see how things are. If I'm still having fun with 1e then I'll stick to it. New factions could be a big selling point.

On another note, there are a lot of comments that people should rely on eBay to get bits and pieces of conversion kits. This could work for a few pieces, not many, at which point you would be better off buying (overbuying) another conversion kit(s). Still there might be significant amounts of money being moved around in this secondary market. Seems odd that FFG, by design, is handing over a lot of potential revenue to eBay/individual sellers instead of creating a business model where they can capture this revenue. Breaking-up conversion kits in smaller pieces would indeed add strain to FFG's supply & manufacturing chain, but I wonder if it would cost more than loosing revenue to eBay. We all would like to believe that FFG has made their homework and decided what is best. Evidence points that FFG is not pretty good at homework: unbalanced releases, misprints, errata all over, huge FAQ and now this messy 2e release including Saw/Reaper. I've seen better work created by fans/modders than FFG, and this is without actually being paid for it.

1st world problems!!

As for the errors, don’t sweat it. FFG will sort it out when the app and first FAQ comes out.

...and it starts all over again.

I'm passing on both for now. I don't have much interest in 1.0, and I don't see much use in having 2.0 stuff until the game is actually out in the wild. In addition, I'm not in love with any of the ships, so, I'll just wait and see if they seem really important/useful once 2.0 is out and everyone's listbuilding.

Yep.

2.0 will just be another train wreck of accretion and powercreep starting from the "new normal." Luckily for FFG, it will probably take 2-3 years to rerelease all the old ships as 2.0 product if they are doing waves the size of this one, so they will have miminal chnaces to imbalance the game with wholly new material.

I'll be picking up Wave 14 and calling my collection complete.

Well, OK, I'll probably get the new Lando Falcon, throw the 2.0 cardboard away, and peg it out over the Lando base from 1.0.

Don't care for the paint jobs, don't care about getting a U-Wing or another X-Wing. I dig a few of the pilots, but not enough to push me into buying the box.

I was super hyped to finally, finally get an X-wing worth playing.

... Now that it'll show up in 2.0 anyway, my enthusiasm has dropped markedly. That said, I never did buy an original U-wing, so it's not impossible yet. If they're cool enough that my wife wants to fly one, for instance... I may well end up forking out the cash after all. :)

Dont need another x and dont need another u. Not enough room in my rebel display case. However kinda interested in pilots....

Ffg said there would be a way to get all the upgrades of a wave without buying ships. Does that mean i could buy a wave 1 baggie and get saw/tubes pilots?

The Wave 1 stuff will be in the conversion kits, and we haven't heard anything about getting those baggies elsewhere right now. Saws and Reaper do not count as Wave 1, so they won't be in there. So unless they announce something about that, I wouldn't count on it.

Picked em up today. Played with the X-wing for a while. No issues with s-foils so far. The body can be rotated a little back and forth after closing, that tends to hold the wings closed solidly. When I open the wings, so far, they stay that way.

I kinda want to wait for a second printing to get the correct cards. Plus I don't feel like I need another X-Wing or U-Wing.

Some of the cards don't have the same wording as the same card in the conversion kit. SR Advanced Sensors doesn't block linked actions, the CK does, SR R3 doesn't have requirements, CK is Small ship only, etc.

I had no idea about this news (working overtime every week for the last month).

Has a second printing with corrected contents been confirmed?

I'm not touching Wave 14...

...because my store didn't get it in stock. Maybe tomorrow?

I have both packs but I kinda regret it...

The tie reaper sounded amazing in 1.0 but 2.0 seems to be completely neutered... give it back its white hard turn!

Saws ships well.. thats a big regret as I bought it for the x-wing fix but 2.0 is coming so it just isn't needed. The models don't look that great and the x-wing is really sloppy. It wobbles all over the place and the x-wing action is awful. Closed or open look verrry similar.

Passing on the expansion.

I am flying scum almost exclusively and intend to get a conversion kit for them space pirates for 2.0.

For the other factions, I will wait and see.
