Different as in FFG will need a reprint to make them truly 2.0 compliant?

I don't think so. the extra lines (for side and rear arcs) are dashed vs solid lines.
Saving money for a conversion kit, if First Order flys like current Rebels then I don’t see myself getting Rebels in 2.0

I have to admit that this surprised me. Like others, my Partisan X-Wing’s wings spring back a little when I close or open them all the way. I’ve seen and handled one of the promo 2.0 X-Wing packs that FFG gave out a little while ago, and that X-Wing didn’t have that issue. The open/close movement on the wings was neat and crisp with no springback.
So make of that what you will.

Unfortunately I can confirm the mediocre quality of the x-wing s-foils. I just opened up my two Renegade expansions and tested out the movement action of the s-foils. The movement feels mushy. They only open up about three quarters of the way and when you close them they spring back a bit leaving a small gap between the wings.
I didn’t really buy them for this feature so I’m not upset, just a little disappointed. I hope Luke’s x-wing in the core set is better.
Any modification thinkable to fix the X-Wing S-foils?
Like adding a bit of clear matte acrylic paint into the hinge to make movement a little harder ...

They do come apart. I haven't tried on mine, but others have posted pics. The central fuselage top rear bit from Astromech comes off. The mechanism on most of them has glue or paint on which rubs off making them work better.
I'm passing. I have two U-Wings and 5 T-65s, so it's just paper for me. If I want to fly the cards in tournaments, I can probably borrow it from friends.
Plus, I like the regular paint schemes more than the Partisan ones.

Where can one find those?
I just got mine in the mail yesterday and I have to say the models really are quite beautiful.

On the UK and Ireland x-wing Facebook group. Search for Kei Taniguchi's posts. He explains how to take it apart and clean the mechanism. I'll be trying it out on mine tomorrow since it's just like the rest with a mushy mechanism.
Edit: others have posted pics and instructions

I'm mixed, for sure on the Reaper because Krennic is amazing for 1.0 and my wife and I have decided to keep playing that until prequel factions come out for 2.0.
Saw's is trickier because I am also planning to play Rebels for 2.0 with my local gaming group. So the 1.0 fix does nothing for me, and for 2.0 it only appeals to me because Saw and Magva seem to be decent wingmen. But they also have 1 agility while the other U-wings have 2. Is that an error? Or are some U-wing just going to be worse than others? If it's not an error I'll probably hard pass on it.
So, after tinkering with both Partisan X-Wings, I managed to make them... better. One went smooth, the other... will be retired after I get standard Rebel T-65s in 2.0. These were DEFINITELY rushed out and I feel like if 2.0 wasn't right around the corner, Wave 14 (or at least Saw's expansion) would have seen a July or August release due to QC issues. The two X-Wings feel like they're made of TOTALLY different material from each other and the molding quality on the one I'm retiring was insanely poor internally with excessive and goopy glue everywhere while the fighter and wings were made of a hard, brittle plastic while the other X-Wing's plastic has WAY more give and an almost rubbery property to it. It's just... really strange. Aside from a wing popping off a K-Wing or TIE Advanced, I've never seen such a distinct difference in quality and material between two otherwise identical models bought at the same time before.
I'm not getting it. I'm saving all my cash towards the conversion kits and starter set. Well, I did get a Tie Reaper as that is new and will be useful as a new transport for Imperials. I just don't play Rebels enough to spend the extra cash to get Saw's. I dunno...maybe down the line? Maybe? If I feel I'm missing out. I will say that $40 for some ships I may not use is....steep.
