Final List

By SDCC, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm attending my last 1e tournament in 9 day time.

I've not played for a month before last night, and I won't have any time to practice.

Nevertheless, I did manage to get a game in with a Reaper last night and enjoyed it. So I'm thinking this could be good fun for a my last tournie.

Scarif Base Pilot — TIE Reaper 22
ISB Slicer 2
Director Krennic 5
Multi-spectral Camouflage 1
Advanced Ailerons 0
Ship Total: 30
Colonel Vessery — TIE Defender 35
A Score to Settle 0
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II 1
TIE/x7 -2
Ship Total: 34
"Quickdraw" — TIE/sf Fighter 29
Veteran Instincts 1
Fire-Control System 2
Advanced Optics 2
Lightweight Frame 2
Special Ops Training 0
Ship Total: 36

QD is optimal, and I'm aware the other two might not be. But for one last time I'm thinking more about having a good time and flying something I like the look of.

Rock up and see how it goes I think?!

Hrm. Part of me wants to upgrade to Feroph at the cost of Multi-Spectral Camouflage (nifty, but really high variance... miss the first Evade roll and you still get lit up with TLs) and TIE Mk.II (Twin Ions are nice on defenders, but Vessery still gets ASTS and TLs when stressed, so I think it'd be the most cut-able point). However, I don't know how likely jam token are to stick around. Against something like a stress Ezra, they'll never be removed, so that seems pretty solid. Against a Fenn Rau, he'll either never coordinate, you'll always get evades against him. But by and large, if I was targeting Feroph, I'd take focus actions to clear the jams to deny the free evade results, so maybe it isn't necessarily impactful.

I'm kind of more interested in Lightweight Frame than MSC. I guess that's still an unreliable extra evade die, though...

Honestly, it looks like an offensive hoot. Very hard hitting. I, for one, would ditch Adv. Optics off QD and Mk. II off Vessery to give QD Expertise - that is the build I hate to fly against and certainly would fly if I flew imps. Vessery, meanwhile, can hit like a truck with so many free mods, and survive the return crit shockingly well with 3 focused/evaded greens. I'm even impressed by the utility of a jamming Reaper with Krennic/his condition all looped together. Good work on this one.

Looks like a solid list. Should be fun and hit hard.

Good luck

It looks like I'll be taking this list into a league rather than a tournament now. But thanks!

Expertise is vicious on QD so I'll definitely consider that.

By having QD be "optimal" do you mean you're gonna toss the Optimized Prototype on him? I presume so, just wanted to point it out if not.

If you want to meddle with the Reaper you can also ditch the ISB slicer if you can't quite keep up the damage output on the reaper without taking focus and such (if Krennic's target lock just isn't coming through for you most of the time or something). If you did, you could totally take the Tactical Officer instead, and give out a TL Action to vessery before he shoots one round, or a barrel roll to either if you are pressured for actions or something. As Greebwahn pointed out it may not be necessary, just an idea if you need extra actions.

Could also take an inspiring recruit if you are going up against a lot of stress lists (cough the pain known as Ezra) and free up a point to take LWF if you need the defensive buff.

Best,

Cow

Though it occurs to me that you can't put the extra shield on Quickdraw so don't take that seriously XD
