So was looking at the new 2.0 stuff last night and noticed something. Back on the team covenant 2.0 stream with the developer, they used Edrio Two Tubes, and did this thing where he passed a focus so Edrio could use his ability. Then after performing his free action would close his S-foils and move and action again. But on the cards S-foils says before you activate and Edrio says after you activate, meaning you can’t do the free action and then open your S-foils, correct?

It’s activation is revealing your dial and then moving and performing action. The demo Edrio says before you activate so that he can do a boost with his s-foils then flip his s-foils to attack before activating. But my card says after activating which is after the s-foils trigger
Maybe the cards in the expansion are the updated ones. We don't know when that demo was recorded and FFG may have altered the card between the time of recording and printing.

You already have the updated card. That video was recorded a long time ago.

"After you activate" is right before revealing your dial. The only real difference this change to the timing window makes is that he can no longer do the trick with the s-foils.

I would say use it as it's printed until you hear otherwise from FFG.
Now, it does seem very strange that they had set up a whole synergy thing between the tubers, and then they totally changed it
whoops, the synergy is still there, I just misunderstood the timing, but without further clarification from FFG, the text in the box is pretty clear.

The video was a few months back. It was recorded well before the official announcement.

The tube monsters still have the same synergy, you just can't use the s-foil flipping shenanigans anymore.

there is only one version of the card "available"
all other versions are none official pre-released cards. so go with the card you have on hand as its all you have for now.

unless the app is the go-to source for wording on cards, and it's free, and everyone can just check on their own phone instead of asking a judge.
The consensus, which I agree with, is that the cards in wave 14 are the faulty ones. The Proton Torpedoes which lacks the missile icon (which denotes not getting range bonuses) is what really confirms this, as well as the Two Tubes that destroys the synergy between the bros.

Also I suggest reading through the thread before posting. It appears that the phrase “after you activate” in 2nd edition means “right after you become the active ship, but before you’ve done anything.” No tubular synergy is destroyed, only the s-foils flipping shenanigans are affected.

Yeah, I saw him say that. I don’t know of anything revealed so far that says that is the case.
To the OP, there is a great deal of confusion right now because apparently several of the 2.0 cards in wave 14 have radically different wording than what has been revealed and we won’t know for sure what the deal is until we hear something from FFG on the matter. The thread taking about needing errata already is discussing the matter.

This is patently false, as cards that come in the x-wing expansion given out to those in attendance at the announcement do not have the same layout, icons, and templating as wave 14.
