Easiest: Palpdefenders.
Hardest: Triple HLC Rhos.
What Was the Easiest and Most Difficult List You Used During 1.0?
My easiest was Super Dash back in wave 5. It felt silly to dodge all those poor suckers with fixed arcs in my freighter. I never took it to a tournament.
Hardest was a swarm with 6 TIEs and a support TIE bomber shuttle. I always rolled my eyes at people who complain about brain fatigue after a long tournament with a swarm of plastic spaceships.
... I no longer roll my eyes.
Easiest: Dengaroo. I took to one event in the early days when it seemed like a fun list, not realising how utterly broken it was. Never again!
Hardest: A TIE swarm after they were no longer good. One of the most frustrating X-wing experiences I've ever had, with a serious deficiency in damage output.
Easiest was Autoblaster ghost + 2 x TLT y wings + Z95. Huge joust efficiency but could easily break apart and hurt things. Run the ghost in as a wrecking ball then 2-turn to victory with the Y's. It never failed that the Z-95 was the true hero of the rebellion usually getting range 1 shots on things as people neglected it in favor of the bigger threats.
Hardest was 5 x Crack + Optic FO's.
1. My mini-swarm skills kinda suck.
2. They all care about arc.
3. It hates TLT
4. It super hates harpoons.
5. It super super hates bombs.
6. It super super super hates trajectory bombs.
7. Asajj laughs at you.
Easiest was probably Han and Lothal Rebel. Nobody really expected to see Han in the Jumpmaster meta.
Hardest has probably been my Corran, Fenn and Ezra list. No easy matches but I do love feeling that Corran can be competitive
Hardest: 4 TLT Hwks with recspec. Keeping at range and focusing fire before being burned down was tough.
Easiest: I had a list with a scimitar with proxy mines and em, tempest with accuracy correcter, and each of them with two tie fighter body guards. It was organized chaos after a few turns.
Most fun: Vessery, Echo, Dark Curse. Well, most fun when it worked. Some days they just couldn't get their timing down.
Edit: dug up my old list. It was the tempest, 2 of the bombers, and 3 tie fighters. Had tried the other way but bombers were just too fun so 2 of them won out.
Edited by ViscerothSWGEZPZ: Dengaroo. It's ok though, because they are in love.
HAAM (but worth it!): Brobots, after the Jumpmonster came out.
Seems like a lot of similar answers from my Scummy associates. Chromed out murdermachines take some work to get humming.
I feel like the easiest thing I ever flew was Dash/Poe. Granted it was BB8/PTL Poe, so there's some consequences there, but not a lot. Basically a no-consequences list. Triple Torpscouts was pretty easy too.
The hardest thing I ever flew must've been 4 Rookie Pilots with Proton Torpedoes and Guidance Chips. No reposition, no awareness of where my opponent is, requires locks to fire the ordnance, actually doesn't win a lot of jousts. That's also still the most rewarding list I've ever flown too.
8 hours ago, SabineKey said:Easiest was probably Parattanni. I was very well use to the Fang and the Lancer by the time I tried it and the Jumpmaster is the Jumpmaster, so getting in the grove of it wasn't hard. Even later when I traded Manny out for Palob, I knew the pieces well enough and it had so much synergy that it felt like a breeze to fly.
Most difficult...hmm. For me, I'm going to have to go with Dash and Jan. The range control needed for that duo can be very frustrating, but when it pays off, it feels amazing.
What was your Dash and Jan list?
Hardest was:
Heff,Biggs,2 TLT Hwks in the triple defender age.
List required expert flying close to heff, but far enough to be range 2 from enemies with TLTs all while blocking people into heff who would jyn ersa focus tokens to Biggs. Managed 4-2 in regionals.
Easiest was:
Triple auzitucks. Not much flying, just had some triggers to remember.
Easiest was Whisper/Echo with an Academy TIE...pre nerf to Phantom
Hardest was trying to get Xizor to work. Closest I got was running him with Autoblaster Y's instead of the Z's

Lots of iterations. I first tried it right after the Yt-24’s release and tweeked it over the years. I think my last iteration was this:
(100)
•Dash Rendar (58) - YT-2400
Push The Limit (3), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), •Kyle Katarn (3), •Outrider (5), Engine Upgrade (4)
•Jan Ors (42) - HWK-290
Predator (3), Twin Laser Turret (6), •Kanan Jarrus (3), •Moldy Crow (3), Vectored Thrusters (2)
Ooh.. Hardest List was likely Echo and 3x Imperial trainees. Remembering where everything can and will be when your executing your maneuvers is just mind boggling. Once you figure it out you then get to watch and laugh at opponents try and figure it out.
Easiest list. Honestly 5x Alpha Squadrons with Auto Thrusters. Not fancy but dang effective.
Easiest - nymranda.
Hardest - old school 7 TIE swarm after wave 4.
Hardest to fly was
TIE Interceptor: · Carnor Jax (26)
Shield Upgrade (4)
TIE Phantom: Sigma Squadron Pilot (25)
Sensor Jammer (4)
Stygium Particle Accelerator (2)
· Rebel Captive (3)
TIE Fighter: Academy Pilot (12)
TIE Fighter: Academy Pilot (12)
TIE Fighter: Academy Pilot (12)
-- TOTAL ------- 100/100p. --
I am a rebel pilot through and through. Surprised my buddies by flying this list to victory a few times.
Easiest would be
YT-2400: · "Leebo" (34)
Push The Limit (3)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
· Nien Nunb (1)
· Outrider (5)
B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Fire Control System (2)
B-Wing: Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Fire Control System (2)
-- TOTAL ------- 98p. --
Totally lost some fights because Nien is not as good as Kyle or Recon Specialist but those extra greens were really nice.
To this day though the most fun to me are 4 ship rebels. Take a mixture of different letters and fly in formation. XYBA was my most common mix.
Dash Poe - easiest
Hardest list was me playing a TIE swarm but with no generics - all that weird PS was incredibly hard to juggle and I soon gave it up. You had PS 8,7,6,5,4,1 , mess up 1 activation to block 2 of your own TIEs.
Easiest: NymGar. It pretty much flew itself. Full, actionless mods from Dengar and a heavy bomber more nimble than most dedicated fighters kind of made me feel bad for some of the people I used it against. I flew it at one tournament and stopped because it felt about as close to cheating as you can get without actually breaking the rules.
Hardest: probably one of my early lists because I sucked and my list building also sucked. I think I flew Krassis Trelix, RG Interceptor and Howlrunner in my first tournament, which is just terrible. Hardest list I used that was actually halfway decent was probably Brobots when everyone else was running around with harpoons and TLTs. PS6 ships that need an arc and cost 50 points apiece, giving up half points is not conducive to a relaxing tournament experience!
Interesting question, I have played so many things during those years I have trouble finding a good answer.
Hardest: maybe LW Dash+3 Z95 in wave 6 in a Soontir+RAC infested meta
Easiest: Corran+Wes Janson+ BIggs in wave 7/8. It was the 100 point ace before it was a thing, you basically pointed it toward your opponent and see them having no clue on how to beat you. It was particularly good against pre nerf palpaces, an archetype that almost made me quit playing. In fact, I started flying it only because it seemed to have a good matchup against palpaces and I couldn't stand that bull list (then I proceeded to not meet any in my whole 2016 SoS run to the top).
It was even able to face pre deadeye nerf Jumpmasters, but Dengaroo was almost unbeatable if my opponent didn't screw up.
I still thank Dan Hars for coming up for that monster of a list that nobody noticed

Very interesting!
Easy has a strong tendency towards highHP low agility, fat ships (= low variability). Also many examples of "nerfable" lists that are reliant on a crucial piece and immediately vanish without it - which they did!
Difficult is full of swarms (around 10/37) and brobots (3/37).
This simple question tells so much about X-Wing 1.0, and where to look in 2.0
100pt Ace with bodyguards, FatTurret + Ace and generally ships with a guaranteed number of turns due to HP should do well.
Easiest - Tel-Dengar
Hardest - probably Kylo + 2x rhoboats
Bear in mind I almost exclusively play Imperials, and I don't own a Palpatine card (no Palp aces).
Hardest: 2 TIE/D Defenders. Most games you are right on a knife edge between too aggressive and not doing damage. Your dice can't suck. You have to spend a lot of set up time maneuvering to avoid alpha strikes. Standard games are trading 2/3rds of one ship's hit points for position, and hoping you can exploit that positional advantage.
Easiest: Quickdraw + 2 Silencers. Two tough ships that hit hard, a lot, are fast, and have Autothrusters. Quickdraw at PS11 to keep aces honest and shred low AGI stuff for a turn when you really need damage. There's so much ship in this list for 100 points.

Two Tie D's? Ooof. You sir, like to live dangerously. Tie D's can be melted pretty quick under focused fire.

iirc @Biophysical was winning regionals with 2 HLC defenders even before Imperial Veterans was a thing
Edited by SunitsaOh I don't have any doubts on his prowess, it's just that it's got to be a very taxing list to play. Two ships that care about their arcs, have no autothrusters and limited action economy puts them at a huge disadvantage over many other meta lists.
