When you receive a red lock token, if it's the only one roll an evade dice. If it's an evade result discard the lock token.

I'm glad FFG are taking steps to fix the current meta...3 months before the new game comes out. Interesting card though. I think cheap, useful mods are something that's been lacking from the game in general. Hopefully 2nd edition includes a bunch of cards like this.

So you can palp it, but otherwise the usual consensus is that rolling on a 3/8 chance is not worth it.

The mod slot is very precious, too. Small ships usually have something there, wheter LRS/GC for ordnance carriers, or Autothrusters/Engine Upgrade for aces.

Where do you see this card? Maybe someone like Norra who won‘t have AT, no ordnance stuff and VT/EU are imo not ideal on her either.

I think your Palp idea is probably the only spot for it. The chances are too little to invest in unless you have Palp to guarantee it. TIE Reaper w/ Palp and this makes target selecting an alpha strike a bit more difficult. Usually the correct choice is still Quickdraw because QD will die to an alpha anyway, but at least it makes the choice of going after the Palp Reaper less desirable.

Or use C3P0 to avoid getting that target lock which would undoubtedly result in a Harpoon Missile lodging in your 1 Agility ship such as Lowhhrick or Norra.

Would 3PO work? If the card refers specifically to the die rolled being an evade, then adding an evade might not satisfy it.

I really like this, i wish it made it to 2.0 even if it cost more since TL's arent basically automatically acquired anymore.

TIE Defenders can situationally use it as well. They don't always fill their mod slot and when they do it's typically Twin Ion MK2 which is adds comparable value to this (IE not alot).

Oh, good call. Yeah, I'd call it an edge-case card with very limited applications for when you've got a spare point and don't need a bid.

Well, this is about 12 months too late. Helps out a lot of the wrong ships, too - Fenn & Lowhhrick didn't really need much help.

Bet it goes pretty well into TIE Swarms, if you've got 3 green dice already then anything you can do to reduce incoming dice mods gives you a good chance of avoiding all damage.

Seems extremely good on Miranda, especially with C-3PO.

Not that it will matter, but it's completely ineffective against Redline. No one flies him so it matters not one bit.

As soon as 1 target lock gets through, the card is pretty much finished. If you are up vs several gunboats with long ranged scanners, the statistics are not on your side. Still, if you are left to solo a ship with FCS, it could help negate the awesome action economy of that card.

It's perfect when you have 1 point left and don't care about initiative.

Especially for ships that often don't have mods, like Lowhrick, Y-wing, z-95, hawks, that sort of thing.

It won't replace a useful mod, but it's better than nothing!

Missiles are not hurting this meta...

its not just missiles that this blocks.
TLocks are used for mass reroll more than missiles. It also messes with that. Too many ships can acquire a targetlock simply too easily atm

And as a very RNG dependent upgrade, it's only good if you have literally nothing else you want in the slot. It's kinda crappy. It's the kind of card that one player in a game is destined to hate. If it was a 1 point, 1 use, discard target lock, it would have been potentially useful, but not as it is now.
