WTF! There are Y-Wings Pilots in the 2.0 expansion not included in the conversion kit!

Well, what this does presumably mean, though, is that there will be Pilots (and probably upgrades) in the Wave 2 and beyond Second Edition expansions that will not have been included in the Conversion Kits, meaning Conversion Kit owners will need to start rebuying each ship expansion that comes out in Wave 2+ of second edition. Unless there is some way FFG will put out "cards/cardboard" only kits for the "new" stuff in the Wave 2 and beyond expansions, which lots of people think they will be doing.

yes, there will possibly be pilots, and for sure upgrades, in future waves/reprints of 1.0 ships that are not present in the conversion kits

Or the sell the wave 2 equivilant to the bag in the conversion kit. Call it $5 to cover the price difference between 1st and 2nd edition.

I would say more like $10 USD basing on what Attack Wing does for their conversion.

Oh. Kinda makes the differentiation seem a bit pointless.

For us, yeah. I’m sure there’s some internal FFG reason why the kits are packaged like that, but it doesn’t apply to us.

Don't care, still going to get one of each.

I could understand there being an internal reason for them bagging the cards up separately, such as them coming in a different manufacturing batch, but not listing all the contents in the contents list is weird.

Agreed.

This thread makes me think of this but of awesomeness.

But does the 2.0 Y-wing model have a ROTATING turret? Much easier to design than a flappy x-wing, no?

And what about the 2.0 A-Wings with flippy side guns?!

No, and no.

Making a rotating turret that small that doesn't fall out at a light breeze would be nontrivial.

So, just to be clear, they include a zip lock bag with pilot cards new to the various expansion ships of wave 1.

This is to negate having to buy the wave 1 ships. A gesture from FFG.

However, there might be new pilots in future re-releases of v1 ships down the road.

People are hoping FFG will sell just the cards to those who have the ships already.

This I doubt. Too much managing for too little return. By the time this occurs, people will be back to buying ships and have forgotten the $200 entry fee into v2 X-wing.

I think new upgrade cards will only be included with new ships and not re-releases.

Hopefully, if cards need to be altered/nerfed, they will include them in with a new ship release.

Anything to keep the FAQ shorter than the rule book. ?

so glad everyone is staying calm.

can't imagine why the devs openly mock the forums in marketing videos.

Nah nah they get their best ideas here. Haven’t you heard?

Do the best thing. Sell everything you have and start over. New core set with two expansion packs Are 100$ or so. You got all the pilots.

Except the designers and others have repeatedly and clearly said the exact opposite of that.

The lack of specifics and price point has me a little concerned but they have been clear: you will NOT need to rebuy a ship model to get new cards. Now, that may turn out to be a lie, broken promise or "certain point of view" sort of thing but then FFG will face some actual legitimate anger.

Edit: I see what you were saying better now. But 2e ship rereleases are almost certain to have new pilots that aren't in conversion kit. They have said expect more pilots. Bwing currently has two. Bwing 2e release will definitely have more pilots.

Do you have an official source for this you can link to? A lot of people are feeling burned by assumptions re: the number of generic bases in the kits, so I'd rather not trust second or even thirdhand information.

"A lot of people are super hurt because they don't know anything, make crap up, and refuse to use even the most basic search engine to do some research for themselves".

FTFY. Maybe they can run for president next election term. Seems to have worked so far.

Does anybody have any gasoline? This dumpster fire isn't burning hot enough yet...

I have some. Looks like mods can sekretly edit posts, because I had an adjective in front of "hurt" that isn't there anymore.

... dude. I missed a line of text in a summary, and then weeks later asked for a source when people said a product included something not listed in its contents list. Calm down.

Yep. Because they’ve said they would.

- At their initial announcement

- during the live play stream at Worlds

- in the Team Covenant videos

is everyone here just unaware of the internet? There’s a ton of information out there, but everyone just keeps coming up with worst-case scenarios in their head and then assuming.

I've watched the TC play throughs many times and have not heard them saying they would release new pilot cards

separately from re-releases.

The conversion kits contain all that will be re-released for ships already out there. The ships may be remodeled but the card content is done.

If you have a certain video which counters this, please post a link as I have missed it and will need to rethink buying some v1 ships now to "top up" my collection for the kits.

Thank you.

If you already own a Y-wing from the first edition, you can bring it into X-Wing Second Edition with the ship tokens, cards, and maneuver dials found in the Rebel Alliance Conversion Kit that will be available at launch. This kit includes all of the ship and upgrade cards available in the BTL-A4 Y-Wing Expansion Pack. Those looking to expand their ship collections, however, can grab the BTL-A4 Y-Wing Expansion Pack and the six other ship expansions launching alongside the X-Wing Second Edition Core Set!

May be this is clear and official

Thanks for the link @skotothalamos. Here's a transcript for that portion of the stream for people that can't Twitch at work:

Quote

"For ships that are not in Wave 1, that will have new cards, there will be an upgrade path for existing players...we're not going into exact specifics. It's going to be similar in terms of what you get in the Conversion Kits, whether it will all be grouped together or separate - don't worry about that yet. But there will be a path to get the stuff without re-buying the ship."

Magnet? I guess a static turret is the norm with even large ships like Decimators, YT-xxxx and epic ships all having non-rotating turrets.

But 2.0 GUNBOAT better be flappy!

Easy to do with magnets for the hobbyist but on a manufacturing scale not so much.

My croc has rotating turrets as standard so it is doable but doing it at that scale would be incredibly difficult.

pretty sure some of the cannons on my corellian corvette rotate.
