Missionary + Child of the Creed

By player1405144, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

What is the interaction if I take missionary and child of the creed? I would get unshakable faith twice. I am reading this correctly, am I not?

Also, can you take Flamer Weapon Training instead of Basic Weapon Training at creation (since they cost the same)?

Lastly, why are all the starting skills/talents for each career also listed on the first rank tables?

Thanks!!

edit: I think you would gain Talented for one of your skills, since it is duplicated, is that right?

Yep, you'd get Talented for one of the skills of your choice instead.

The starting skills are replicated in the 1st rank for redundancy, as they were in Dark Heresy, because future alternate career ranks or backgrounds could alter what starting skills you get, and they wanted you to still be able to get them if this were the case.

I'm new at this so I'm a little confused...actually came here to ask the exact question in the opening post about Unshakable Faith.

Child of the Creed gives the Explorer the Unshakable Faith talent as does the Missionary career. So, can the Missionary Explorer another talent besides Unshakable Faith since there is no benefit to taking this talent twice? Thank you.

As I stated in the post above yours, if you would end up with two of the same talent (in this case, Unshakable Faith), the second and subsequent instances of that talent would instead be the "Talented (Skill)" talent, where you get to pick what skill the talent applies to.

This is stated on page 15 at the bottom, in a box named "Skills and Talents: The Sequel".

I've seen the last question you asked multiple times on the forums, and I believe you're going to have to take it up with your GM.

Thanks for your replies. I checked page 15 and saw what I had missed.
