Day & Night, Simultaneous?

The FAQ states that, should it be ever be day and night simultaneously, for all intents and purposes it is both day and night. But I wonder, as I struggle to wrap my head around the more intricate aspects of the game, when would this occur? This is a preemptive question, not something I've personally run across during a game, but I'm doing my best to understand certain complexities. As all day/night cards appear to destroy pre-existing day/night cards already in play, how is it possible to have both day and night cards in play, simultaneously? Is it simply a matter of playing an effect that counteracts the destruction of the pre-existing card(s)?

I am sure that there is at least one card (I forget the name as I type this) that allows it to be both day and night at the same time.

You're playing Shub and I'm playing Cthulhu...

You have Shuggob, Ghoul Sage in play and I, for some reason or another play Called by Azathoth on him to blank his text box.... at some point afterwards, someone plays a Daydreamer, making it day.... and you decide to play Burrowing Beneath on my Called by Azathoth. Ta-da! Night and Day at the same time.

Now, why on earth we would play through this ridiculous series of events... or why I'd be playing Cthulhu/Day, I can't answer. :)

Though there are a few cards that enjoy passive bonuses for day or night with no downside otherwise, and even a Zoog that loves both day and night, this doesn't appear to be a beneficial situation. Seems most of the day/night dependent cards rely on their specific game state, and having both in effect simultaneously would render the majority of such cards useless. It's interesting that the simultaneous night/day scenario is something a single player could potentially bring about on their own via a very specific and odd series of plays (as you mentioned); though it appears to be a fragile state, impossible to maintain. As soon as another day or night card is played, the balance would be destroyed.

Seems the neutral Twilight Ritual card from AP13 provides a fairly direct method. It simply blanks all day and night cards in play for a single phase. That opens the door for all manner of two-card combo simultaneous sun and moon shenanigans.

You can have the case when you have some cards with a Keyword Day and with a Forced Response: "after this card enters play, destroy all night cards in play". If your opponent cancel the forced Response with a card effect you will not destroy night cards and you will have in play both day and night cards. For the moment you have not such cards in a lcg's environment but in the old ccg's you had a lot.
