Hey hey hey! No one dismisses the Toronto Blue Jays around here. Don't make me report everyone!
Can FFG win the trust and excitement of the Armada community back?

Who?
I'm a proponent for American Football making a lateral transition to something more akin to rugby (which appears to result in fewer catastrophic injuries) or pro flag football. There's just nothing quite like the sight of a dude cutting through a pack of defenders, shrugging off hits, and throwing stiff-arms.
Also, since #armadaisdead I've doubled-down on my pre-season Fantasy Football research. Our league is gonna pony up for a 3' crystal football trophy this year and I want it on my mantle.

A truly brutal sport. I was amazed the first time I watched it.
As I see it, the root of the Armada community's problem with FFG is centered around expectations. We as players expect that FFG is in some way supporting the game until they say they aren't. We also expect to take FFG at their word (more or less) when they communicate something like "something big is coming". There are also "soft" expectations that FFG will or won't do certain things because of what they've done or not done in the past.
The problem is that they are unable or unwilling to use their PR department to manage the expectations that the community has, which leads to friction. (Of course I'm generalizing here as not every individual has the same expectations, but I think the point stands - the people who are unsatisfied are in that state because FFG's PR dept, for whatever reason, has not managed expectations.)

They probably need more staff in their Comms Department.

It's fascinating to see the schism, there's denial, anger, hope, optimism, and at the root of it all FFG. Not even a tidbit of information or a "Hey sorry guys we meant for the Hyperspace Report to include all our Star Wars IP but couldn't meet the deadline." or "Hey, sorry about the confusion HSR was planned to be just for X-Wing, we do have plans for Armada/IA but are not ready to announce them yet."

I saw it while GW was going through it's dark times too and I wish I could say that was over quickly but I'd say they were terrible for a solid 7 to 10 years. People have invested so heavily into the game that they just can't be honest about the situation or they can't stand others being honest about it so they just deny or hide from the fact that there's a problem. /shrug I hope the game survives.
For everyone worrying about Armada being dead, or wondering if there are plans - I've got to say "Dude....."
just
"Dude...."... (or even "Lady..."if you prefer).
When one of their games is ending - they LET people KNOW - and in most cases, even have another wave afterward. If the time ever comes that Armada ends, they'll let us know well in advance. And they'll probably still have another wave after they announce it. like "Wave 34 will be the final wave".
But lets be real here - Armada is a popular game. It's not as popular as X-Wing, but it's still very popular. I don't know how much they sell, but the game does well almost everywhere, and new players are joining up all the time. I see so many comments on my channel about people just now getting into the game, looking for advice on purchases, asking questions that new players do... the game was once one of the top miniatures games, and while it's dipped a bit due to some slow points... it seems to me like interest is steadily growing.
And on top of that, it's EXTREMELY healthy right now in terms of game mechanics and balance. I can count on one hand the number of issues with the game right now, and most of them are extremely minor. (#1 might be the need for a cheaper core set, like an "essentials" pack to help new players dive in easier), so this game is likely entering it's Golden Age right now. Every build has merit - Every Commander has uses, Every Ship can be amazing.... And most importantly - Every game played can be extremely fun!
So keep that in mind when you are growing frustrated - this game is absolutely spectacular - so while we ALL are eager for news... it's a good problem to have!

I think there's a minority players who feel the game is dying or will be discontinued - I think there's a majority of players who feel the enthusiasm of this (fantastic) game has been sucked out with no visibility to the future. No bones, no scraps, a starved dog will chomp at anything (other games) and then it's harder to win them back.

It’s true... You can’t really “dismiss” something if you don’t know it exists.

Totally true. I had thought they got moved to Seattle and became the Supersonics or something....

You're just mad that the Braves have been terrible since they left old Turner Field. At least they're not the Mets?

I don’t know about that. That back 3 looked shaky today. Against better teams, like Belgium it will be a real interesting game.
That being said, I think it would be great if they did.

Ah the optimism....
and that says the limit of my caring about the silly round ball, didn't even bother watching it

It's much more skill than brutality. You try essentially running an egg and spoon race with a flat spoon while others try to take it off you.https://youtu.be/8FcTzG4F4AU

This is the type of libertarian argument that drives me nuts. By saying "they don't owe you anything" it's like it alleviates their poor business practices. "They might have enslaved all those people, but hey, they don't owe you anything". At no point did anyone say "I demand FFG give me what I'm owed". What we are saying is we're probably going to quit the game if these ****tards don't actually put out some product.
I wonder how libertarians get around on their compounds without roads.
I didn't have the expectations you have. I want new content once in a while, and that's it. A few months without news is no problem. I still have stuff from wave 5 I've never played, because I simply don't get to play all that often. So...I have no problem.

A few months/literally half a year. which ever.

No problem if it's nine months. As long as it's fewer than a year, it's fine for me.
