Finally on to Vader (Glazes)

By player2801864, in Painting

So finally, at long last, I am one miniature away from completing the core set - Vader. When I painted Luke and the lightsaber, I tried to make a glaze with just paint and Vallejo Glaze Medium. It didn't turn out super great. Would it be better to pick up a glaze from Citadel and use that? I'm probably just going to follow Sorastro's methods, but, wanted some better input on glazes. Thanks

I will say that Sor's method with the citadel bloodletter + lah medium was very easy to do when applied properly. Thin layers built upon each other in the right places had an awesome effect, and Vader is by far one of my favorite accomplishments as a intermediate painter.

I would absolutely vote for the citadel range in this.

I had a very easy time with bloodletter glaze from citadel. YMMV, but if you can part with the $4 it’s probably worth it. My artistic ability is questionable, but the glaze went in easily and was pretty easy to control.
