Talking a little about Maul in 2.0, and giving away 3 conversion kits in my latest video -
I'd gladly také one ;-)
Maul!!!!!
So we went from "players won't have to buy multiple factions" to "players are expected to buy into all factions". FFG should hire you to stand next to them every time they make promises like "players won't ever have to buy outside their faction for upgrade cards" so you can translate for us what they're actually trying to say.
Also I love how the players that are insisting that you only need 1 of each kit are the same people claiming there will be a ton of duplicate Mauls floating around. The only way there will be duplicate Mauls is if everyone is buying 2 Scum kits. Seems like a contradiction to me.

This guy gets it.
It's ok to be excited for 2.0 and think it's worth it. But don't lie to people who ain't enthusiastic about the penny pinching on cardboard here, and if you absolutely have to? Be consistent.

The people who are suggesting that multiple Mauls will be floating around are those who expect FFG to keep their word of (at least eventually) making all upgrades available to all factions. What this means is that he will likely show up in the ghost/sheathipede as well as the shadow caster whenever they come out, AND he will be available for those wave upgrades for the players that don't intend to buy ships.
This means that everyone will have access without leaving their factions, and multi-factionists WILL have more than one Maul.
Makes sense to me anyway

That's basically what I'm trying to say.
I know alot of people who are expecting to have to buy multiple conversion kits from each expansion. Additionally since Maul is one of those cards that was missed, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if an alternate art Maul was handed out as a tournament participation promo, for awhile. They did that sort of thing with cards like C-3PO to increase their supply and get them out there. I've had an overflow of cards in other games show up through similar means. I've got friends who simply gave me tons of old promos for Imperial Assault that I missed, because they had dozens of them. I've done the same in Armada to new players - as I have a bunch of extra promos laying around.
Basically I don't think them leaving this card out is a deal breaker, for those who aren't sure how they feel about 2.0.

When combined with all the other stuff that has been leaked without FFG telling us themselves, including the shortage of generic pilots in the conversion kits compared to what was initially suggested, the reintroduction of a 1.0 turret mechanic and an action bomb (competitive or not), it undermines our confidence to take FFG at their word, which should cause players to take pause and actually exercise their brains instead of just burying their heads in the sand and throwing money at FFG on launch day. That tells FFG we're overjoyed when they tell us one thing and do something else.
If all that stuff doesn't bother you, then just continue being excited for 2.0. Nothing wrong with that. But you don't have to defend FFG when they screw up, or rationalize their mistakes, to continue to be excited for 2.0. That should be the FFG marketing team's job. If they have a Maul promo card coming out, then let FFG announce it. But if you don't recall, the 3PO promo came out almost 2 years after the Tantive came out (May 2014//Spring 2016). Just enough time to get all the tournament players to buy a $90 Tantive if they wanted that one card to compete, then use the promo to get everyone else to show up for the next year's tournaments. I'm hoping those kind of scumbag business tactics aren't going to be continuing into 2.0, but I'm not reassured by FFG's current conduct.
I feel like we need more critical thinking and less blind brand loyalty in this increasingly corporatized world.
I think you are confusing optimism with loyalty. And I also think you are being too hard on them. These conversion kits offer a TON of new options and will completely revitalize the game, and considering how much you get for 50 bucks, I think it's an amazing value. So I'm willing to cut them some slack if it falls short of their initial promises.
And as far as the promos go - I expect it'll be more of a reactionary promo, like how for Imperial Assault they made a ton of promos after half the core set cards were errata'd. Seems like they printed a ton of cards to help fix the mistakes, and I'm speculating that they might do that here. I don't think anyone here is burying their head in the sand. Some people are simply more excited about 2.0 than you are.
Maul is probably in the little baggy that they put in the conversion kits that aren't listed under the included items.
I would say we simply don't know enough to get this excited about any one aspect of 2.0 yet.
Will there be a maul card in the bag of extra cards will maul be in the ghost or shithapede?
Will Luke a single gunner card prove to be the utter dismantling of 2.0 mechanics as promised? I don't think we have enough information to tell yet.
I sincerely think FFG staff worked in good faith. to produce a quality product with the game and players in mind.
I do think that corporate execs at FFG and it's parent company and Disney are looking for profit.
I am not jumping to conclusions that FFG are intentionally deceiving us and lying about intent and product plans to boost a few percentage points of profit.
I for one am going to let the marketing machine play out and withhold accusing the developers of lying to us in public forums until we have the whole truth.
I am also very certain that if you only want to buy Rebel faction you will have options in secondary markets to buy a maul card for less than the cost of a conversion.

What action bomb? Huh? What? Where? Source?

The rigged cargo chute is an action to drop, not system phase. Hardly the return of action bombs but ranters gonna rant.
But it doesn't blow up? If that is a bomb, then is an asteroid a bomb too?
