Happy Friday ....

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

Hello Armada peeps,

Question for the week, have you injured yourself or a ship playing Armada?

Accidentally broke a Gozanti off it’s peg when painting it... does carpal tunnel from TTS count? If not, I think this means I’m just not playing enough.

Well except for the victory antenna issues my fleet is intact.

Minor concussion from being "disagreed" with as I ejected a cheater from a tournament.

We started lamenting with my sparring mate about Armada being truly dead as FFG stopped supporting it. And our hearts broke.

Kept my third VSD witg the greatest care. I wanted that antenna to stay. I got a box to keep it, checked measurements, it did fit, tightly. Tgose were the good days.

One day whike closing the box I noted some resistance, but a small nudge closed it. To my horror, through the transparent lid I saw... The bent and now broken antenna.

I still curl into a ball and cry sometimes.

Broke the antennae thing on my first Nebulon.

Was going to move it, but I was so eager I more like smashed it like a bug :D

I'm picturing a Matrix style martial arts showdown...

I have a small scar across one of my knuckles because while battle scarring one of my ISDs the model slipped and the rough areas I had cut into the model dug into my finger, does that count?

out of three VSDs only one has its antennas. 2 out of 3 raiders are missing wings. I also smashed an interceptor with a Wookiee swipe one time.

Whilst playing (any) wargames I have only injuried my pride & my standing ...

edit - oh managed to snap a TIE sqn base at the bottom of the stem after I wedged it in..

A similar thing happened to me. I did my best to preserve that antenna, carefully storing the ship and everything. But one day I was setting up my fleet and I carelessly moved a ship over the VSD, and the base snapped off the antenna.

Also, after my very first game I dropped a TIE fighter model and stepped on it, breaking off a wing. It has since been glued back on, but at a slight angle.

Happy Friday!

I had a Neb B fall out of my hands, hit the floor, and snap the mounting peg off. I think one of my VSD's has a broken antenna as well.

...or a nerd fight.

No problems with Armada (yet) but I died a little inside when the guns of my CR90 XW epic ship broke off - I think only a single barrel on one turret remains :(

I've gotten migraines when I've been playing Armada for 8+ hours (tournament or All-Out Offensive).

As many before me have claimed, only 1 of my 4 VSDs have antennas. The only reason that one still does is because I have it on my desk at work for decoration, no way those things stand up to play.

Never injured during Armada, but back in the day I tried out a Tyranids army for 40k. I wasn't paying attention and I fully glued a Carnifex to my thumb. Not just a little bit, the entire thumb. Had to carefully cut the two apart, probably left half my thumbprint on the model.

Had a CR90 do an unexpected Hyperjump straight to the ground. It's glued back on it's peg. Other non-armada injuries involve some plastic Goblins back from Warhammer 4th Edition aka "we'll show your foot, what 'pointy spear' REALLY means"....ouch....

I got food poisoning during a meal break early last year, in the middle of a tournament. (Never going to Buffalo Wild Wings again). It hit me during round 4 of the final game. I almost couldn't finish - dude kept asking me if I was alright - I was hot, dizzy, sweaty.... had to sit down most of the game.

Still won! Then went home and puked my guts out.

Wargamers Heal, when your heals ache so badly you can't stand still any more. Used to get this more when playing large 40k battles but the 'old injury' still flairs up if stood playing wargames for hours on end. (Also got it last time I holidayed in the States at Disney World queueing for rides - that is a derivative my family now calls Dwarf Heal - I'm not going to admit the ride involved lol).

What is it with all your broken Victory antennas? Just let them they travel cosily, and the antellas will forever go "beep, beep, beep"... ?

... then again, the ships are carried cosily and I get neck tension...

I once snapped off the back of a YV-666...

Sad times until I realized it was a YV and is never used anyway.
