So this is in the post....

By VAYASAN, in Star Wars: Rebellion

Got this arriving tomorrow.

Bought it because its FFG and has loads of SW models ?

Just done a little(very little) reading and do I understand correctly that its a great game but the rule book is horrible? My main opponent will be my wife so ill be doing all the rules etc.

How long does it take?

Might occasionally have my Niece n BF round to play, how is it as a 4 player?

I played with my girlfriend. Days beforehand, she saw the tutorial from Dice Tower review on youtube.
We ended up playing for 7 hours !! - Including breaks, lunch-times and rule explaining (incl. rule-finding).

Don't be scared by this comment, as it is different from person to person - Other times I played for 4 hours (with first-timers) incl. breaks.

It was great both times and Star Wars Rebellion is still one of my favorite games ?

3 players, for me is also quiet fun. Especially if you are a pro and plays against two newcomers who play as the empire (really great to see them cooperate) ! - However 4-players has not been my favorite cup of tea so far.
2-player is the best, though, in my opinion.

Ok cheers for the info.

Anything particular that you didnt like about 4 player? We will be either 2 or 4 player when time permits.

Courier delvierin today, looking forward to more SW goodness.

Another question. Is there a way to feasibly play for 2-3 hours, then record where you are at somehow to carry on the same game another day?

Easiest way (of course) would be to somehow preserve the board as it is. I think the main challenge would be keeping an accurate accounting of the location of all the forces on the board.

Edit: I suppose a spreadsheet that would record forces, loyalty/suppression, and heroes, but there is some secret information that would need to be recorded in such a way that only one side would see it while setting the game back up.

Not sure how complicated it would be...but would a few photos work do you think?

Maybe? Depends on the quality of the photos I guess.

When you're first learning SWR, or teaching it to a new player, your games will go 3 or more hours.

Once both players completely understand the rules, the interactions of the cards, and the flow of the game, you should see your games over within 3 hours. You can mitigate some of that time by setting up the game board before hand. If you're playing as the empire, you can also deal out your planet cards, place your units, and get your starting missions ready. Then all you need is for the rebels to take care of their side and you're good to go.

I've also found these tools to be helpful and speed up the game:

Setup Helper: http://ventersconsulting.com/BoardgameHelpers/StarWarsRebellionGameGenerator.aspx

System loyalty/probe droid tracker: https://rebellionmap.com/

Build tracker/generator: https://www.rebellionbuild.com/

I've seen games go roughly a single hour.

And I've seen them go 8+ hours (with minimal breaks). There are lots of variables.
