Anyone want to pass along any updates that come out of this for those of us who can't stream while we're at work.

Talking about Unicorn being way behind.

Started on raising their power level right after Gencon.

Showing spoilers!

Showed no Mantis, but did show a stinker of a Void only neutral spirit.

Dude, for a mantis, you're pretty cool.

Thanks for the post

Did anyone ask if playing with the maho spell or with the Oni is going to get noticed by Story Team to influence the story? My guess is that it won't, at least in the near term.

Oracle of Stone is sneaky good.

Force of the River is amazing! Very happy to see that the rumor about this card was true. It will likely be a staple for at least one of the new unicorn decks that will emerge from this cycle.

Oracle of Stone seemed good when I thought it was an Air spell and I could combo it with Uona. I don't really like looting cards that end up costing me a card, though. If it didn't loot for your opponent too, I could see it being ok with Kyuden Isawa. As written, though, I only see it being used to burn your opponent's deck. Play a dishonor game, get them low on honor, and then mill them for 6-12 and trigger a loss. I'll probably give it a whirl, but I think the deck idea needs some work.

Mark of Shame makes Phoenix players sad, but seems fairly costed. I like seeing more role-restricted cards like these!

I was hoping for an official stance from FFG, but I guess that's something.

Tisk, tisk, you greedy chicken. They can't all be air spells. :P

With Tadaka in play I can absolutely guarantee you that this card is going to wreck someone's day, on top of the pressure it puts on someone potentially milling their conflict deck. *** you eluded to, off Kyuden Isawa you can recast the spells you pitch, so the downside is minimized........... and I bet there will be some conflict recursion besides Ancestral Guidance at some point. I would not be surprised to see this card end up on the restricted list at some point.

There is a reason why Ponder is banned in several MTG formats.............and this is pretty much Ponder.

Pretty much my thoughts on the nose, Ishi. With Kyuden Isawa, you can cast it once, pitch two Spells you can cast from your discard pile, then cast it again, and do it again. Yes, it lets your opponent also cycle, but remember: if they start at 0 cards in hand? They go back to 0 cards in hand. Also, three copies of this plus three copies of Backhanded Compliment means you can kill someone at 8 Honor, if their Conflict Deck is low enough. The number of games I have dropped to under 8 cards in a Conflict deck at less than 8 Honor if I am playing a High Bid deck is a little too much for me to feel comfortable.

If Charge wasn't restricted I could see playing this to dig for it, but in my current deck I'm not sure why I would choose to be down a card so I can dig for... Against the Waves? Cloud the Mind maybe? Or a Let Go? I guess the later two might be worth it for when you really need the answer.

No, this is Faithless Looting. Which was played in specific decks sometimes. If this were ponder, you'd draw 3 instead of two. And that's to say nothing of the free benefit you give your opponent that cost you a card to gain yourself.

I strongly doubt this will ever be restricted.

Lol it looks like I added an extra "s" to the word as by mistake.

Oops.

It's not really faithless looting either. The effect is similar, and can even be replayed, but there is an actual mama cost for faithless looting and none for this card.

So what if your opponent gets to filter cards too? We already know of circumstances (and not all that uncommon) that make that a detriment to them for doing so. At high level play your opponent is discarding quality for quality so the chances that they got to filter into something better because of your action isn't going to occur with any great frequency.

I suppose we're at the agree to disagree phase. I will just point out the faithless looting is often referred to as the red ponder. It doesn't need to be spot on same exact effect, it's a shortcut to saying "best cheap effective cantrip." On second thought maybe calling it ponder is doing it a disservice as it can actually threaten a win con directly, wereas ponder cannot.

I dunno. Semantics. I think it's a really good card, but, I am somewhat of a johnny type player so this card appeals to me.
