Anthem Genesys

By copperbell, in Genesys

Is this possible given what little has been revealed so far?

I don’t know what this means...

I don't think we know enough at all about Anthem (the upcoming Bioware game) to really properly do it in Genesys.

That said, it certainly should be possible, if at least because Genesys really can handle just about any setting. The key is you have to be willing to put in the work to create equipment, talents, and adversaries.

I agree with Kommissar. Genesys can do just about anything. That's the whole point of the system. So based on what little we know about Anthem, sure.

I ran a little Anthem game as a one off a few weeks ago. I just used the exo-suit from the GCRB, and gave it 8 hard points. Then created a bunch of things like heavy armour, dash, mortar, rail gun etc, and gave them different values.

My system needs a **** of a lot of work, but I only put a few hours into it to make it work, and it did. Pretty well.

You just need the hardwork to put in the paper everything that is needed to play in that scenario. But it's possible to do, easily. Merge somethings from modern setting with the futuristic setting and go on. There are a lot of games with some things similar to Anthem. Big weapons, exoescheleton, a lot of monsters, some cool powers...

Why not. Javelins are just different kinds of weaponized power armor with flight. There are four types. Heat is a factor to pay attention to while flying (its why they often fly through water).

One idea is to start the Javelins as a Heroic Ability like in Terrinoth. All players start with one. As PCs gain xp, they can gain customization points to upgrade their Javelins. This is in addition to other forms of story based advances that can happen.

Just an idea.

This setting is another setting that could use really good Dynamic Environment rules. And it will need Large monsters to fight, like larger Rancors.

I'm excited for this game. Anthem looks good to me.
