Are you enjoying 1.0 more or less today?

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

With 2.0 on the way, are you enjoying 1.0 in the last couple months we have with it?

If so what are you flying ?

PS please don’t be mean if someone lists something you hate.

Less interested, can't wait for 2.0. Mostly reading up and analyzing the coming changes.

Flying some things I know will be less interesting in 2.0 (Talonbane cobra, no boost and I5.. :() and some things that will improve in 2.0 (Firespray).

I’m on standby while waiting the release of 2.0, familiarizing myself with the changes, new optics and new changes. No new games until GenCon.

I've been pretty much in a "standby" mode ever since the announcement of 2.0. We have a League going on, so I still play that (only 4 games to go though, out of 12 total) and I will play in our July Store Championship event (our last tournament for 1.0). Other than that, I wouldn't refuse to play if someone asked but I'm mostly just waiting for the release 2.0 (which looks so promising!).

I am having fun because it’s always been fun for me. Sure I’ve been frustrated with some of the stuff that’s come up but I’ve never disliked the game.

I am playing in an epic league in my area right now. Get some use out of the big ships before they go back to models without a way to use them (yet).

I am working on finding what I want to fly in store champs.

I lovelovelove the new T-65 rules for 1E and have been having a blast with them. It's almost a shame 2E is coming out now that they finally fixed the traditional X-Wing, but I'm looking forward to 2E as well. In the meantime, Wes and Wedge have been getting a workout.

Far less knowing something far better is on the horizon

Noticed it's really annoying trying to kill anything in 1.0 given the bevy of defense token stacking, and trying to steer Sol Sixxa into bombing range (to circumvent said hyper defense) is difficult because the offense is hyper modified too

Mostly waiting for the reaper, hoping jam isn't TOO terrible in 2.0

I'm still having fun, but I'd far rather be playing 2e at this stage, the wait is just painful.

Whenever I wind up with one of the big problems of 1e, I just find it irritating that it's still 3 months before I get my hands on the fix.

Looking forward to 2nd edition, but still loving playing 1st. Played at the European Championships last weekend and had a lot of fun, both in the Swiss rounds and in Team Epic on the Sunday with @Arma Quattro. There's a lot still to enjoy.

Looking forward to giving 1st edition a big send off at UK Nationals in August. It's going to be one huge X-Wing party.

More, because I’m just flying what I want instead of worrying over a dead meta.

Well, I still enjoy 1.0, just not as much. But until august I have a church function every week on my X wing night, so I wont be playing a whole lot. Planning on going to my Store Championship in August, this will be my last hoorah with 1st edition. Really looking forward to Defenders and E-wings in 2nd edition.

Yeah, I had a great time at Euros, but there were a couple of points where I was flying against meta stuff and just finding it tiresome.

Note really surprising when you only lose in the last round, though XD

Enjoying it more.

Enjoying all the brokenness I can before it's all fixed....

Stopped playing 1.0 before 2.0 was even announced anyway.

Not because i got tired with the game but because the majority of people around here did except 3 people, and 2 of them drive me up the wall lol.

I've stopped playing. My favorite list isn't going to be a thing in 2.0, so I'm just going to wait and see what inspires me at release.

Good work fella. I went 3-1 before the inevitable decline set in and called it a day at 3-3. One of the losses was very close (last shot, last rond as time was called decided it), the other two not so much. But the losses were down to my mistakes really, not any issues with the game. I was looking forward to throwing the Gozanti on the table anyway, so that was OK.

I got stupid lucky then crashed out in round 2 of the cut.

Still, Sunny Bounder got top 64!

Definitely been playing less and less interested. Still love the game, but I think since 2.0 Mrs. Rick and I have been really feeling the 1.0 cramp - so many ships that just aren't competitive.

Technically, I've been having more fun with 1.0, but only because all I've played since Worlds has been a game of Epic. As is well documented, the Epic format is by its very nature much more fun than standard play. :)

As to Standard, I haven't touched it since Worlds and I don't think many folks locally have either. There used to be a semi-weekly (every two weeks?) casual X-Wing pick-up game group that got together at the FLGS. But that group hasn't gotten together since early May. Despite having an unbroken string of past plaques, I'm also planning on skipping out on this year's Store Champs, partly because my interest in 1.0 is lowered and partly as protest over how s-----y the prize support is this year. The replacement of a plaque with a lame spot gloss card is really disappointing.

I enjoy it more when actually playing, but I‘m less interested in playing.

Looking forward to Nationals, too. Krennic Vader has been testing VERY well.

All of the above. In my local group, we've been playing alternative formats mostly: 60pts, up to 4 players on one mat; and 160pts for a tournament this Saturday.

I'm currently debating between taking 10 Z95s plus 2 Cartel Marauders, or 5 of each...

I've been enjoying trying out some of the Imperial ships that I haven't really flown much of, especially since many of them have dials that are simply improved or tweaks that should make them pretty effective. Might put Whisper on the table for the first time in a Palp Aces just to enjoy that 4 dice primary before it's gone. I'm playing more games now, so I'm enjoying the practice of putting ships on the table and knowing that my practice of flying these Imperial ships should pay off for 2nd Edition.

I'm having the fun of a man who knows the ship he's on is sinking. I'm doing whatever I feel like because it doesn't matter.

I am still liking it alot, despite the obvious terrible flaws it has. ;)
