2.0 rebel costing hypothesis

By Ayleron, in X-Wing

So I really wanted to start list building but lack of points make that hard. So I went to work extrapolating everything I could from the bits of info we have. Currently it's very much a work in progress but I feel pretty good about alot of it. I primarily play rebels so that's all I have worked on so far. I am way more familiar with their point costs. I compared the gold Squadron Podcast numbers, double printed costs, Mathwing jousting values (doubled), and the notes found in the "changes" Google doc.

Here's a link to the tables I put together today.

I can't seem to reconcile the Leebo and Chopper lists so far. The ship costs seem to be surprisingly lower than expected but close to jousting predictions. At least for x, y, u, and k wins.

To give an example of my thought process I am thinking I priced the E-wing low. But 51 ensures you can't have more than three and I was unsure how much more a Knave was really worth. Jousting says a little over 48 points before getting the extra hull point, which seems to be 3 points so 51.

Let me know what you all think.

Mathwing joust values

I am probably on the low side of my estimations. This is probably going to make me sad when the real numbers come out as opposed to the higher estimations by the gold Squadron team leading to being happier with the lower values.

From what it looks like to me, the cost of having an upgrade slot even if it is empty has been significantly reduced, if not removed, in most cases. That is awesome news in my opinion as that opportunity cost was really obnoxious.

Seems like the upgrades are trending higher than in 1st edition, so naked ships have a significant cost difference from upgraded ones. I think this is a good thing.
