New T65 Lists with stuff from Saw's

By agenttherock, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Ok, so I've been focusing on 2nd edition so much that I nearly forgot that the x-wing is getting a huge boost in power in 1.0 likely as a send-off to 1.0 so I've been crafting lists with some x-wings recently so here's some that I've been coming up with! Suggestions and or other peoples lists welcome!

List 1 - 4 Cracking Zealots (and a Z): 100

4x

Cavern Angels Zealot — X-Wing 22

Crack Shot 0

Renegade Refit -2

Targeting Astromech 2

Integrated Astromech 0

Servomotor S-Foils 0

Ship Total: 22

Bandit Squadron Pilot — Z-95 Headhunter 12

Ship Total: 12

This one seems like the most obvious one (crackshot/targetting could be different, for instance a 2 point ept and a 1 point astromech but the main structure seems very strong to me, this list should pack a similar punch to the 4 B's and a Z list from back in the day, the x-wings have barrel rolls and tallon rolls for knife fighting similar to b-wings (barrel roll and 2-K) but can also go fast and 4-k if needed unlike the b's, also they get to each push through an extra damage unlike the b's (or different EPT ability), can grab a target lock on a red move unlike the B's, can flip servomotors for boosts, they also have an extra agility but even with integrated have a solid 2 less shields/hull than the b's and fewer shields to hull although integrated offsets that a bit since you can choose to ditch a bad crit early.

List 2 - Luke's Zealots: 99

3x

Cavern Angels Zealot — X-Wing 22

Crack Shot 0

Renegade Refit -2

Targeting Astromech 2

Integrated Astromech 0

Servomotor S-Foils 0

Ship Total: 22

Luke Skywalker — X-Wing 28

Expertise 4

Renegade Refit -2

R2-D2 4

Integrated Astromech 0

Servomotor S-Foils 0

Ship Total: 33

This one seems like fun to me, probably not as competitive as the above but works off a similar principle with the zealots but trades the last one and the z for fully kitted luke, his ability combined with expertise makes for a psuedo poe ability and since he has offensive and defensive focus mods that frees up his action for a target lock for more offense or a barrel roll for repositioning (or boost I suppose). R2D2 speaks for himself, I think 33 is a good price for this though I'd like it better if luke was a 9, since he is an 8 the 1 point bid isn't very useful but could be used to upgrade 1 zealot to have a better astromech (M9G8 ?) or ept (intensity or elusiveness)

List 3 - Rogue Squadron Aces (and a z)

Wedge Antilles — X-Wing 29

Push the Limit 3

Renegade Refit -2

R2 Astromech 1

Integrated Astromech 0

Servomotor S-Foils 0

Ship Total: 30

Wes Janson — X-Wing 29

Veteran Instincts 1

Renegade Refit -2

Targeting Astromech 2

Integrated Astromech 0

Servomotor S-Foils 0

Ship Total: 29

Luke Skywalker — X-Wing 28

Push the Limit 3

Renegade Refit -2

R2 Astromech 1

Integrated Astromech 0

Servomotor S-Foils 0

Ship Total: 29

Bandit Squadron Pilot — Z-95 Headhunter 12

Ship Total: 12

This one is definitely more of a fun list but if flown well could pack quite a punch, it's similar to a lot of 3 x-wing lists I've seen on here but has extra points for a z and has a lot more repositioning and I really just want to try flying it.

List 5 - 5 T-65 SWARM

5x

Rookie Pilot — X-Wing 21

Renegade Refit -2

Flight-Assist Astromech 1

Servomotor S-Foils 0

Integrated Astromech 0

Ship Total: 20

Although I like my first list a little more than this it is important to note that you can fit 5 rookies in a list, though not the expected 5 cavern angels as many expected (because of the EPTs) unfortunately since rookies don't have epts (which makes sense) they can't take advantage of the 1 point reduction on an equipped EPT

SO out of those, I like the 5 Rookies the most - Swarms, especially ones that can actually hit, are real nifty.

However, other than that, I like the aces idea a lot. However, I would downgrade Wes' droid to an FAA, allowing Wedge or Luke to equip Expertise/FAA rather than PTL/R2. I also don't quite trust PTL on those guys, so I might consider using Predator instead, but that's just me.

The 1st 2 lists totally could work, but I'm not a huge fan of relying on Crack Shot...

You could run 5x droid-less zealots with crackshot. Pushing that much extra damage might kill something fast enough to offset the loss in durability.

I'm looking forward to the Intimidating Angel configuration x2 alongside 56pts of heavy hitter (probably Outrider).

(55) YT-2400 Freighter: •"Leebo" (34)
Smuggling Compartment (0)
Counter-Measures (3)
•Outrider (5)
Expertise (4)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
•Rey (2)

(22) X-Wing: Cavern Angel Zealot (22)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Servomotor S-Foils (attack) (0)
Intimidation (1)
Renegade Refit (-2)
Flight-Assist Astromech (1)

(22) X-Wing: Cavern Angel Zealot (22)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Servomotor S-Foils (attack) (0)
Intimidation (1)
Renegade Refit (-2)
Flight-Assist Astromech (1)

Total: 99/100

It would be even cooler to go 3x + an X Ace though.

Drop a targeting astromech for a 1pt droid and add tracers to the bandit to give all the xwings a lock for an alpha strike.

Perhaps this:

Cavern Angels Zealot (22)
Selflessness (1)
Renegade Refit (-2)
R4-D6 (1)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Cavern Angels Zealot (22)
Crack Shot (1)
Renegade Refit (-2)
Targeting Astromech (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Cavern Angels Zealot (22)
Crack Shot (1)
Renegade Refit (-2)
Targeting Astromech (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Cavern Angels Zealot (22)
Crack Shot (1)
Renegade Refit (-2)
Targeting Astromech (2)
Integrated Astromech (0)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
XX-23 S-Thread Tracers (1)
Guidance Chips (0)

Total: 100

The first Cavern has selflessness and r4d6 droid. Keeps that Z-95 alive long enough to fire his tracer. And if the opponent tries to alpha the selflessness carrier, hopefully r4d6 can reduce the missile damage enough to keep it alive to benefit from the tracer missile.

I really like that! Kind of a mini-biggs like effect on one and a much better alpha strike, seems like a really good idea

And still three TAs for the after pass beta strike!

Yes, X-Wings are very powerful with FA Astro, Either as 5 Rookies and the Discounts or as Cavern Angels and Cheapish EPT.

But i have Tested Luke under the new Rules, exactly like OP has him in his second list, and he is no joke. Takes a TL or repositions every turn. Has Regen and unless had focused he will be back with full shields and a vengeance. For 33 points! It feels like a mini-Corran except he hits harder with Expertise, is a little squishier and has no double tap.

He is so good, i actually tested him with Miranda and Strezra instead of Lowhrick. He could not protect her as well, but then after she was gone he just ran the shop on his own, while being cheaper than the Wookie too.

I had the points for a pulsed ray shields on Ezra, and my opponent who ran a harpoon Alpha list just could not get rid of Ez and Luke. He got Miranda in exchange of a little damage on his Star wings. After that Luke deleted Quickdraw (got him real good with an unexpected talon roll where he could not get out of dodge) and the Starwings wanted to finish Ezra, but could not do it. They were stressed constantly and couldn’t reload... Luke came over and thats all she wrote for my opponent.

That's awesome! I've been looking at that build for Luke for awhile but wasn't sure it would work on the table, glad to hear it flies as well as I thought! I'll have to try it out at my weekly group this week!
