Hammerhead Alt Art has a U-Wing on it

Seeing as the expanded hanger alt card has a non canon star dreadnought on it, I wouldn’t take it as a sign.

Although if an SSD ever does come to armada, it will probably be something smaller like the bellator class (shown on the alt art), as opposed to the executor class SSD. Not to mention that there are plenty of non-canon components in the game, like every ship in wave one (almost), the mc30, Garm bel Iblis, even the card art on thrawn shows thrawn from the old EU. However, none of this means that u-wings are actually coming.

To be more specific, the uniform is from new canon, with its tighter fit and less ornate epaulettes. However, the face is from the old EU, with no cranial ridges and pure crimson eyes. Here are all three Thrawns for comparison:

P.S. I know this got kind of off topic, but hey, its Thrawn. Maybe I should start a Thrawn appreciation thread (assuming that one does not exist already).

Will the U-Wing ever be added to Armada? Certainly.

But just because it's on an alt card does not make it automatically so, otherwise we'd already have the Corellian Gunship, as Dras reminded us ?

lets not pretend this game is getting new models.

Anyway the story is that I was commissioned for that way back before Lucasfilm announced Thrawn would return in the new canon, so yes it was originally Legends Thrawn. A while later I found out that the publication of the image was to be delayed and that it came straight from Lucasfilm, so that tipped me off that something big was up with the character. True enough he makes his glorious entry into canon through Rebels and he has a new white uniform and slightly different facial features.

FFG made some tweaks to the original image to match his new look though they didn’t quite go all the way, so thats why it he looks like a hybrid of Legends and Canon Thrawn.

I would’ve preferred if they had come to me for the changes but I’m fine with the way it turned out, plus it gives me the opportunity to tell this story;)

Maybe it means the hammerhead is coming to xwing epic? And they pre-re-used the art for armada
