Fast Enough - Lando's Falcon 2nd Ed

By RStan, in X-Wing

Back on topic, I'm on board with getting the Falcon for Scum. I'm curious to see how well the escape craft physically works (and how quick it would be to physically dock and unlock if you so desired). The 2-dice primary's nice and thematic, plus the dockable ship and other Scum shenanigans MAJE it sufficiently different from the Rebel Falcon to justify it.

Now, the real question is, do I want to keep it pristine or apply some damage marks to put the Falcon in her natural state?

Oh, I can't wait to see someone take this and turn it into the post-kessel version of the ship and removing the front two landing bays to make it look more in line with the ANH ship just more damaged.

Guys there's a spoiler thread for this take it outside.

It's a thread talking about a ship from the new movie. Do you really expect that people won't talk about it in relation to said movie?

I think its a case of Solo more or less having a more overall fun/light tone to it and not drastically changing OT character or killing them off. I felt Solo was a passable film, not good, not bad, but the new Falcon looked spiffy and the FFG model even more so. TLJ is a divisive film, and if you want to discuss that feel free to, but how about for this thread we drool at that model and talk about the new shiny expansion?

It's pretty, but it just doesn't look right with the pointy front. Still, the shuttle mechanic is interesting enough that this may be the first Falcon I buy!

Agreed. The 2-dice turret is kind of a non-starter for this fantastic ship. Without some kind of "Add a 3-dice primary" type title card, it kind of puts this ship into the support ship category. Having a cheap carrier for Jabba and his 2-crew slot requirement isn't a bad thing and there might be some fun party-bus-style builds you can do but with that low-attack value, it won't really shine in my opinion.

At least you have the option of removing the shuttle to have a more classic looking one.

I'm curious why it gets two firing arcs. It only had the dorsal cannon in the movie. No ventral pretty sure.

Also it's a single barrel gun so attack 2 is fair.

I think in the film it tries to fire from the bottom cannon but it still does have its top cannon even if it wasn't used.

Why do people talk as if being a support ship is a bad thing? Not every ship needs to be able to take on an entire list by itself.

Support ship?

You mean "jabba caddie"

And now I'm just assuming that the cargo that Han jettisoned was Jabba's new spiffy dias/throne.

I think that is the general direction they are going with Large ships that only have a turret primary.

Interesting. I'll get it, more for the ability to scum-y it up (it is way too clean for a Scum ship) and because the cards will be useful for my other scum ships. Don't know how much playtime it will get though....

And he had to dump it because Palp declared that no one could have a better throne than him.

Oh look. It's The Agenda Strikes Back.

No disappointment here I'm afraid; I enjoyed it.

Me too. I thought it was a solid, fun movie.

No one in the galaxy shall have such a fine throne made from Mahogany but his exalted imperial self, Emperor Palpatine!

you can move the rock right infront of someone's deployment. Depending on who you can do this to (both ships in quesiton and rock placements) that could really throw them off.

Imagine running a tie swarm and that rock goes right in the middle of your "clear path" for your formation. I'd be really really irritated at that lol

And Just as your opponent is tearing their hair out over THAT little nose-tweak, you say "By the way, I've got Boba crew on that Firespray that I have in reserve..." and watch the nervous breakdown unfold.

And the boba spray has rigged cargo

Why is boba so synergistic with this set? Spoilers for next Boba/Solo movie?

My thought on this is that it really and finally and completely renders the JM5K totally, absolutely, beyond useless. I mean, not a big deal? I never really flew the Jumpmaster? But ****, can you make it any more plain that the JM5K is beyond dead? That you want us all to burn that model? Really? Just say it in plain words?

Indeed. I think the only exception on large ships is the Lancer, and this is likely because it also has the front arc, as it did in 1st edition.

Nope, not hte only exception. The Jumpmaster is the only full PWT from first edition to not get a bow-tie arc in second.

Looking forward to all the Solo/Fett bromance lists. ?

Sorry, I must have missed it. Where did it list the point cost of the jumpmaster and this new YT scum ship? Because you certainly wouldn’t be able to make this argument without knowing those, so I’m sure you’ve seen them, correct? Let me know where you found them as I’m looking forward to reviewing them as well.

ain't no one knowing where the arcs are!

Those arc lines are so sloppy. Can I really indulge myself that much when I have my arc forward and back?
