Been thinking about the new Uthuk hero and his Sweeping Strikes-like ability. For those that haven't seen it look below:
From the rules reference regarding charges:
16 Charge
16.3 If a unit resolving a charge collides with an enemy unit, the
charging unit performs a melee attack action targeting
that enemy unit after the move is complete.
From the rules reference regarding collisions:
18: Collision
After a unit performs a march or shift action, if it is
touching an obstacle that it was not touching before performing
that action, it has collided with that obstacle.
From the rules reference regarding obstacles:
59 Obstacles:
An obstacle is any game object on the play area that units can
collide with while moving.
59.1 Obstacles include:
• Other units, both enemy and allied
• All terrain
• The edges and all area outside of the play area
Sweeping strikes:
So I'm thinking that if Hawthorne with Sweeping Strikes (or Gorgemaw) charges into an open space, but is within range 1 of an enemy at the end of the charge, he is technically ending his march with his front edge touching an enemy, and thus collided with that enemy. This should end with an attack.
Does anyone see a flaw in this?
