2.0 Base Tokens

By evanger, in X-Wing

Let's get a list of what really matters for conversion of your collection: the base tokens.

{I am trying to keep this first post updated}

The only one I've seen for sure is the T-65 X-wing expansion (from an unboxing video). Presumably this tells us what "1 X-wing" is defined as, in base tokens?

It comes with 3 small ship base tokens, as follows:

*Biggs/Blue Squadron Escort

*Garven Dreis/*Thane Kyrell

*Wedge Antilles/Red Squadron Veteran

I see that the "Quick Start" cards from Core 2.0 are showing *Luke & Red Squadron Vet and *Porkins & Blue Squadron Escort.

Thus, the Core 2.0 should provide 4 pilot cards for T-65 along with 2 small ship base tokens:

*Luke Skywalker/(Red Squadron Veteran OR Blue Squadron Escort)

*Jek Porkins/(Red Squadron Veteran OR Blue Squadron Escort)

In the Y-wing we need at least:

*"Dutch" Vander/

*Horton Salm/

Hopefully the backs of these can be such that Gold and Gray can be flown together (i.e. Gold Squadron generic on back of Horton, Gray Squadron generic on back of Vander).

We also know Evaan Verlaine is in there; I'd guess that there's probably 2 low and 1 high PS generic also?

I didn't check.

When the Rebel Conversion kit says it can convert "2 existing X-wings", what does that mean for base tokens?

Presumably it contains the stand-alone T-65 expansion fully, at least once.

I further presume it does not include the Core game T-65 pilots.

Maybe it just straight-up includes 2 x all cardboard (and cards, less unique duplicates) from a T-65 expansion pack. Probably the easiest for FFG.

At that rate, the reported card numbers might not add up.

For the T-65, you would get 2 dials, 6 base tokens, and 8 pilot cards (Wedge, Biggs, Garven, Thane, Blue Squadron Escort x2, Red Squadron Veteran x2).

*Biggs/Blue Squadron Escort x 2

*Garven Dreis/*Thane Kyrell x 2

*Wedge Antilles/Red Squadron Veteran x 2

There's only one of each unique, in the kit, for sure. E: cards, that is. I didn't look at the bases in detail. I really should have.

As for the Core 2.0 set, all I know is that Luke should show up:

*Luke Skywalker/Red Squadron Veteran
*Jek Porkins/Blue Squadron Escort

Is the above not confirmed already?

We’ve also got Norra in a Y-Wing...

If I recall the X-Wing expansion unboxing, Biggs and Garven were two sides of the same base token.

Really? I could swear I saw it differently.

Where are the people with the kits when we need tgem?

I don't know. I couldn't find base token details anywhere (except the T-65 unboxibg)

EDIT: To be fair, these might be swapped. The only way to get 2 X-wings from a Core 2.0 set is to have 2 Core 2.0 sets. Thus a double up of tokens (i.e. using unique Luke face-up and unique Luke face-down; i.e. Red Squadron Veteran; would work just fine.

Here is one cut at figuring out the Rebel Alliance Conversion Kit partial contents. 95 pilot cards, 65 base tokens, 35 dials. Don't know if we have correct counts for card contents as of yet. This is mostly a guess as to the contents.

One thing I'm slightly confused on: Why are pilots in the conversion kit if they are also in the 2.0 expansions/core set? Unless I've got something backwards.

As I understand it, the Conversion kit contains all Wave 1 pilots and no Core 2.0 pilots.

Except for T-65 and TIE/LN generics, where appropriate.

The conversion kits are there so you don't have to buy the expansions. The pilots from the core set are not in the expansions or the conversion kits.

Oddities from Rebel Conversion Kit.

Where's *Thane Kyrell (T-65), *Evaan Verlaine (Y-wing), and *Norra Wexley (Y-wing) in the official contents list?

For the unique pilots of the ARC-170, Phantom I, Phantom II, Sabine's TIE: each pilot can only fly next to 2 of the 3 other pilots, using just the contents of just 1 kit.

YT-2400 can fly with 2 generics; Falcon, Ghost, U-wing cannot.

they are part of the 2ndE components and not "conversions" so not on the list. But are in the box in their own little special baggie.
