Happy Tuesday - Next Latari Hero?

What is your guess for the next Latari hero?

I’m gonna guess that the horse person in that kit is the next cavalry for Latari. For the hero, I am going with Spider Queen. A decently tanky hero (3/4) with okay speed that allows a web token to be placed before deployment. That web token would give an immobilize to any unit that deploys at distance 1-3 of that token.

Her other ability might be something like give a unit an immbolize token when you perform a melee attack.

I'd like to see more done with the Overgrowth mechanic. Let's say:

Latari Siege Hero, similar design to Scions but more overtly humanoid.
2 Defense, 5 Wounds
Overgrow (2)
Melee: while this unit is occupying or touching Overgrown terrain, it can make attacks targeting any enemy unit occupying or touching Overgrown terrain. It gains brutal (1) while attacking units occupying Overgrown terrain.
When this unit performs an advance while occupying Overgrown terrain, it may place its back edge touching any piece of Overgrown terrain and not touching any other obstacle.
Brutal (1), Protected (natural)
Melee attack: RBB

I'm not married to the stats, but I like the nascent Latari theme of controlling and gaining extra advantage from terrain. Since Overgrowth tokens are already a mechanic, they seem like a natural way to reinforce that theme.

Here's the take I took on a Latari hero a couple weeks ago. It's still what I want. :D

The shape-changing vampire hero lends me more confidence that FFG could entertain a quirky design like "figure upgrade plus scenic portrayal of unmounted hero hidden in a sniper perch" for the two models.

Like Bhelliom's idea, my suggestion plays on Overgrowth (and gives a reason for the tokens to be distributed in sets of four) and terrain.

With the speculation that the next Latari unit is going to feature centaurs, I feel like having an unmounted hero continues to maintain nice symmetry.

From an earlier article: " Lord Vorun’thul is the first Runewars Miniatures Game character with the power to transform mid-battle" - emphasis mine.

I guess Baron Zachareth also transforms mid-battle with the Savior or Betrayer mechanic. And the Uthuk hero seems like it might transform between one model or two. Maybe mid-game transformation is the theme for the third hero?

If so, what transforming character would Latari have? A shape-shifter (were-leonx or were-bear) is an obvious answer - but too close in concept to Vorun’thul.

So, how about a character that transforms something other than themselves - like being able to alter, or add to, the battlefield terrain mid-game? That would add a lot of tactical options and would fit thematically.

I posted my thoughts as well to kaffis; latari siege unit that acts an overgrowth token and enables units to equip an overgrowth in addition to their existing upgrades.

Other than that probably a hero designed around hit and run tactics? A hero that has latari training built in (I mean someone had to teach kari the move right?). Can attack and disengage.

Has a unique upgrade to increase shift by one and modify them with a bank.

The other unique has a unique surge to add a stun on melee.

2 / 3 and rolls a white/blue with precise? Protection 1 from range.
