Isn't there a lot of sand in Australia? I hear that stuff is coarse and rough and irritating and gets everywhere...

Definitely, we were left out of Massing at Sullust way back when.

It is unlike FFG to allow X-Wing to be hit though, and in any case just because it's not out of character doesn't mean we have to enjoy it.

They buggered up the wave 7 release too. (Oh wait is that supposed to be out? Hang on i will make some calls....)

I think the game here is suceeding in spite of the official support (and with you parramatta guys making up a lot of the missing difference)

I'm super impressed with the quality of play we see in Europe and America where you obviously have bigger communities. Downunder I honestly think we are almost done in terms of competitive play. On the one hand, we have small groups of dedicated players pushing the game... on the other, we have the complete ineptitude time and again of everyone who controls the important stuff like comps and stock... I mean our local store just forgot they had the last kit in a cupboard until we asked why we were so overdue...

I've been around long enough to see plenty of game systems die competitively because of unbalanced systems or major overhauls to rules that nobody liked but this will be the first time in 20 years I've seen a beautifully balanced and sophisticated game die just due to an appaling lack of support...

FFG seems to want to maintain the stranglehold on OP to support the stores but then fails to even do that... It's like people saying they want their cake and to eat it too... except, in this case, they want to have the cake and throw it away so nobody gets it...

I think the other disadvantage of living in Australia is the relative sparsity of population centres. Perth is a good 3 hours flight to the nearest city, and even Sydney and Melbourne are pretty far from each other. Must be hard to organise a national competition when everyone is so far away. Population density in the US and Europe does lend itself to more engaged communities.

Having said that, I'm yet to visit my local Armada community, so I might be talking out my backside. (Next week, I promise!)

Oh my god....

Other armada player in australia exist...... its not just me and my friend?!?

THIS IS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY...

*has a heart attack and dies*

Lets play games ="We are staffed by game experts with a deep personal and professional commitment to building gaming communities across Australia."

Only we don't bother ordering a whole years worth of OP....

The Community Manager should be able to take care of that for you Capt. W...oh wait. :)

We need a Community Manager.

(And this is a huge blunder if it is across all of its games i.e. X-Wing)

This is not the first of these sorts of issues.

The (at the time) Canadian distributor forgot to order any of the Corellian Conflict Tournament Alt Art kits for the Country.

Then also failed to notify the stores that this occurred. Allowing the pre orders to sit - often pre paid, for MONTHS until they were cancelled individually by stores.

Furthermore, because of the lack of bulk orders (due to a country missing), FFG did not reach the “popular” limit required to reprint the kits.

So it comes to pass that you could, and can, NEVER get those kits in Canada.

... so at least they are trying to scrounge for you...

I'm well aware that is neither the first, nor (I suspect) will it be the last of such issues. Again, we were left in the cold for Massing At Sullust.

Equally though, it's just not good enough, and is incredibly frustrating and damaging to multiple communities.

Indeed.

The most surprising part of this is, apparently, Australia has 6(!) authorized distributors.

I had plenty of dealings with Jedko games back in the day (driving to their warehouse in Moorabbin back when they were the only importers of BattleTech in the FASA days...)

Id be leaning on them to pull up slack... But I’m also not in country anymore, or I’d help...

... if I could pay off 30k in debt, and line up a job, I’d come home permanently and help.

Honestly, its the other distributors that get the products released on time before LPG.

But the the OP Kits can only come from LPG because theyre the OP manager apparently.

Maybe try to have game shop owners complain to Asmodee/FFG?

If the Canadian Debacle is anything to go by... they won’t be much longer.

Not gonna hold my breath... my only real question is if the companies are too stupid to work out how poorly this is being handled and act accordingly or if there is some sort of deal/shenanigans which mean they keep their jobs despite being useless.

Not... happy... Jan!
