Played 1 game so far with it and love it, gonna do another game with it on Vassal tonight. Faced Corran/Low/Fenn yesterday and was able to kill Lowhrick fairly quickly, then Whisper just one shotted Fenn, and Corran had no chance. Krennic is amazing versus Corran's regen, Corran could never take a risky turn.

Yorr synergies with Countdown quite well, not just his ability, but the sloops and K-Turns make Countdown more unpredictable than he already is. Whisper can literally dial in any safe move and then can correct it if its a problem by using Adv Sensors and still has FCS built in with Krennic. Really love the list and takes me back to when I fell in love with the game.

Why Yorr in this build?

I feel like a Reaper would be a more robust asset.

Yorr is great with Countdown and Whisper. His ability also shuts down things that counter Whisper and Countdown. Omicron is nonexistent once Reaper hits the table, but Yorr is still very useful.

One thing to note from the FAQ (for general reference for all readers more than anything): If Yorr's ability is used to intercept a stress which was part of the cost of an ability--Soontir Fel, Opportunist, and (while not specifically mentioned in the FAQ) Countdown--the ability does not resolve. Yorr could grab CD's stress from a red move, or prevent Asajj from stressing CD before he can use his ability, but Yorr can't grab the stress from CD using his ability.

Anyhow, looks fine. Phantoms have known vulnerabilities, but they're still nifty and potentially rather fun ships.

I'd consider Twin Ion Engine Mk.II on Countdown. When they take stress for their ability, it'll shut off their Ailerons, which means a slower move unless you don't clear the stress. TIE Mk.II allows a 3-bank, which adds back a lot of the lost speed. Granted, losing LWF is pretty hefty. Depends on how much incoming fire you think you'll take. If you're only worried about like one shot a turn, relying on Countdown's ability might be better.

Countdown and Yorr work. Its all about how that stress is received. If the ability triggers, and the consequence is to receive a stress a token like in countdowns case, then Yorr can receive the stress. Countdown may trigger his ability, and as a result of doing so, receives a stress.

If receiving stress is what triggers the ability like in Soontir or Karsabi's case, then Yorr doesnt work as if he receives the stress then the pilots ability does not trigger. Karsabi HAS TO RECEIVE the stress token in order to remove the weapons disabled. And Soontir HAS TO RECEIVE a stress token to assign a focus token.

Looks like a fun list. I might have to give it a go this week for funsies.

It works see @wurms post

That Whisper is just so good, I can't get over it honestly. Though Adv. Sensors almost seems unnecessary - ditching it would allow for perhaps pure sabacc to throw a bit more damage around, as atm, Whisper is the only real hitter

I can see the difference in wording. I could have sworn my local TO was saying it didn't work, but he could have been mistaken, or I misheard, or I was talking about Karsabi and was getting it backwards.

Sabacc would be one shotted probably every game. Countdown and Yorr thrust Whisper to the end game. GSP estimates an average game is 12 rounds. Probably would take about 3 to kill Palp, Whisper and Countdown run free before Palp is gone, so they at least killed something, making it probably take 4 turns to kill Countdown, now you’re looking at around turn 8 where Whisper is 1v1 and worth 46 points and can take on any ship that point fortresses above her because of Krennic. Adv Sensors is gold too, it’s almost where whatever I dial in can never be wrong.

Ah, but with Countdown and Yorr as the other pilots, I would focus fire Whisper like nobody's business - Pure Sabacc and Omega Leader would make target priority much tougher, as you also want to kill them fast.

You would have to get arc, get passed 4 dice with Focus/Evade, 5 hit points, and Palp. Be my guest ;)

The other option I’ve been considering is Whisper/Kylo. 92 points.

Fair point lol
