Sato Aces

By Falco406, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hey guys,

What do you think of this fleet? My basic strat is use the transport to move the 1300s up into position turn 1 and 2 to protect Space Mom and the duo of destruction (aka Hera, Wedge, and Dutch). Hera is giving rouge to the duo every turn. The A-Wings are there to tarpit any fighters and have Tycho get in close to trigger Sato.

The Mon Karen is there to chainsaw ships and the Salvation is there to try and stay at long range and hope for the hail mary, 13 damage shot.

I also included a Strategic Advisor to help with the low capital ship count.

Let me know what you think!

Looks like it strikes a nice balance. IDK about the Liberty, but it can’t hurt to experiment. Why is Raymus on the GR75? Are you planning on using it for a Nav command as well as squads? If not, EHB could achieve the same effect. With those 2 points you could swap the generic A-wing for an HWK, since Tycho is currently the only squad who can escape engagement. Good luck!

That's a much better use in the Gr75. I was just using him for the squadron token. Thanks for the help! The HWK would be very helpful.

And what is Sato for?

I don't understand your question? His ability allowing the mon karren and salvation to switch out dice for black dice at long and medium range.

Interesting list. I think it will live or die on its positioning. You may need to be naving your ships most turns. I think the Lib is a fat juicy target now so be careful. Mon Karren and H9 have negative or else lower synergy, you may want to remove/replace one of them.

So maybe 3 more damage a turn? Seems awfully little benefit for all nthe moving parts. MK for instance could take heavy ion emplacements and trigger them at long range for 3 bonus dmg on its own.

You don't want to squadron command with the GR-75 on turn 1. You can't shoot anything, so you would only be giving away information to your opponent for free (now he knows where your squadrons are going). Navigate on turn 1, and wait until the squadron phase to move those YT-1300s.

I would suggest using the GR-75 to command Shara, Tycho and A-Wing on turn 2 (in most situations, not all), because at speed 5 they actually have the range to move and shoot on turn 2. YT-1300s are really slow, and you don't have Fighter Coordination Team or anything that could speed them up.

Yeah, I agree, I threw the H9s on to be able to limit the defense tokens even further with MK.

Ah, I see your point now. If I drop the strategic advisor and leading shots on MK, I can fit the Heavy Ion Emplacements. Then at long range I can swap out 2 reds for 2 blues.

Cool, thanks for the advice with the GR.

Basically any other defense token mitigation on MK is redundant. You could just altogether drop H9s, and get heavy ions on that liberty.

I’m not sure about the YT-1300’s in this list. If you add in HIE’s then you’re going to want to get your fighters way out front quickly, in order to Sato at long range. Which is going to leave your 1300’s out of the fight until possibly too late. I’d switch them out for something faster, X-wings or A-wings. HWKs always pair well with Sato!
