What is the one ship you hate playing against?

By Fuzzywookie, in Star Wars: Armada

When an opponent places his or her ship, it makes your heart sink to your belly.

Regardless of the fact we're on wave 7, it's still either an ISD 2 (for the effort it'll take to take down) or Demolisher (because of the unrighteous amount of damage it does on the cheap).

Second for ISDs. Just so much hull to chew through...

Zombie Yavaris

Gladiator-class Star Destroyer, specifically with the Demolisher title.

The people I typically play against that use this ship play it very well and very often, and it forces me into a tough decision to either put lots of effort into taking it down to avoid being hit by it's devastating attacks (leaving me vulnerable to the rest of their list) or try to avoid it as much as possible and withstand it's attacks as best as I can. Neither option puts me in a good position and I'm still trying to figure out the best way to approach a list containing Demolisher even after all these years.

GT/LS/XI7 ISD2. Even worse if the admiral is Jerry.

It's never a ship for me... it's when they have a cluster of squads valued around 120+ points.

Salvation. Opponents always seem to roll crits.

Interdictor Combat. They clearly know something I dont.

Demo. It always has a tremendous effect on the game

+1 for Yavaris. It's too dangerous to let live but at a mere 65 pts I very, very rarely avoid trading significantly down.

Honorable mention to a JJ enhanced Demolisher which is just so squirrely. 7 clicks and move/shoot? Good god.

I don't get the idiom but I will say Bright Hope. It's annoying.

On the other side I always hated Gallant Haven + Biggs.

Screed kuat isd with fire control team, heavy ions, concussion missiles *god rolls included. Even the side arc does 5 damage extra.

One shotted a Liberty.

MC30 Admonition

Especially with Mon Mothma. Extremely hard to kill, especially if you're attacking with red dice.

Quasar Fire.

When I see an opponent unpacking one of these it almost always guarantees I'm going to have to deal with Squads, Sloane, Squall, and Strategic.

Huh.

Funny how those are all S's.

I was a much greener player in those days, but I don't think I ever won a game against a pre-FAQ Demolisher.

can Raddis count as a ship? I really hate playing against raddis.

Seriously though, ship wise?

Mc30's are irritating because I honestly have no idea where they're going to be most of the time.

Quasar fire: oh god a **** sloane fleet.

Any kind of upgraded ISD: its sooo much hull.

HIE raider: kill it! Kill it now!!! Fire! Fire! Fire everything!

Home one type mc80s just because of the shields

So is the thing you say when you see max squads across the table but only brought four TIEs.

Are you suggesting I'm complaining about Squads but not bringing them?

No, I was referring to some of my lists, since I often run light on squads. They're extra scary then. Whether you bring many squads or not, all the things you listed can still be dangerous.

It's getting to be the MC80L. Curse you, @Card Knight!

MC-30s, too fast and too many guns
