You mean second edition?
It's a new game, with new rules, new bases, new cards and upgrades, new templates.
Literally the only things which are unchanged are the dice, the small and large bases, the obstacles, the bomb tokens, and some of the miniatures.
'Normal x-wing', aka, 1e, will continue if players wish it to, but will no longer be officially supported or playable in official tournaments.
There's a lot more information available on this elsewhere on the internet, but I'll give you the headlines.
The rules are very similar, but there are some important changes.
If you want to keep using your 1.0 collection with second edition rules, you'll want to look at the conversion kits, which will be faction specific. They'll contain new cards and cardboard to use 1.0 ships from their faction in 2.0. Check the FAQ section of the Second Edition product page for more info about the conversion kits. You will still need to buy a new Core Set. If you've got enough of any one ship type to fly a spam list of 100 points of generics, you'll probably need two conversion kits for that ship's faction to convert that many ships.
Actually I watched a video from team covonent and it says they will make packs to make the old waves be able to be played in this one
Indeed. Furthermore, the upcoming Saw's Renegades and TIE Reaper expansions will contain components for both versions (the latter will not be available in any conversion kit). The First Order and the Resistance will be separate factions as well, and it will be necessary to purchase those extra conversion kits. They might be combined, though, as there are only three Resistance and six First Order ships overall. It's also possible that these will be deliberately cheaper, roughly equivalent to single-ship blisters. They could even (and this would be really great) include the components to fly ships from other factions like in Most Wanted: Resistance A-wings, First Order TIE Interceptors, etc.
