The Reddit page linked in the OP. Apparently the Juke cards and Krennic cards are dual 1.0/2.0, but the Cavern Angels aren’t. That makes absolutely 0 sense to me, but what can you do? ??‍♂️

That does seem weird and a little underwhelming. At least the normal kit has some cool cards! Does this mean there's no plaque though?

Did they show the acrylics?

Top 32 get Jukes, top 8 rulers, top 4 Krennics and top 2 Cavern Angels.

I guess maybe Cavern Angels won't be a thing in 2.0, that's why they are one sided? But then the question is why pick them as the prize.

The rest of the prizes are really nice tho, Juke is a good card to have multiples of and I will gladly upgrade my second hand rulers for the official ones.

BTW, fantastic work FFG OP as usual, to learn about the kits that we already played for we have to scout unofficial facebook pages with low quality photos.

I was at that store championship and I'm pretty sure that the cavern angels was double sided

Almost certainly means the Cavern Angels simply aren't in 2nd ed. I don't remember seeing them so far. They are a fun little send-off to the X-wing in 1st Ed and that's it.

No Plaque?!?!?! So much for the unbroken streak of years above the mantel.... ?

If true, then still a really poor choice of participation card for a transitional Store Champ. Why not do a U-Wing or Reaper generic that is dual-editioned? Why not just have done Cavern Angel (1.0) / Red Squaron Veteran (2.0) instead?

I was planning on going out in a blaze of glory running the most awful meta lists I could find to stack up more plaques before we hang up our pew-pews (competitively, at least). Without the plaques, the prizes are very meh to a future kitchen table gamer. My SOS range rulers will not get replaced by orange things :p

Now that the contents of wave 14 are out, we see that there ARE Cavern Angels in 2.0, which makes the lack of their inclusion in these prizes even more confusing!

If it makes people feel any better, the head of OP prize support told me that he’s mad that they aren’t 2.0 compatible.

So no, the fact that FFGOP dropped the ball in yet another way related to prize support doesn't make me feel any better. I mean, where are the plaques? Why didn't the Armada kit include the last missing acrylic defense token before starting over with a second style of defense token? Why is prize support so utterly stingy, where over half the players at a large event like a Regional do not even get a participation card? Why can't they double or triple the amount of acrylic in the kits, like in the old days, especially given that attendance has increased almost ten fold since those days? Why the heck can't FFGOP get all the prizes and kits to venues on time before events? 3 of the last 4 events I've attended have been missing all of some of the prizes because OP hadn't sent them in time. How much is OP paying in unnecessary shipping because they can't get kits out on time?


So, no, surprisingly it doesn't make me feel any better that FFGOP are mad at themselves for yet another questionable blunder in their support of the competitive scene...
