FFG
I promise I will buy this pack, even though I had no intentions of doing so with the 2.0 release...
IF...
You announce a Scarriff playmat with the gate! C'mon already...
I’ll buy it if they’ll ever release it!! I’ll be very disappointed if we don’t get an announcement this week!
As I'm currently only planning to stick with 1.0 (unless we hear about Clone Wars factions) I'll for sure grab the Reaper as an Empire fix and probably grab the Saw's pack as a boost to X-Wings. If I was for sure getting into 2.0 then I wouldn't bother with either pack honestly.
Also huge +1 to the Scariff map idea, my second favourite battle in Star Wars (Coruscant is the only one more epic to me)
I’m getting it primarily for the alternate paint schemes. I can’t paint even as well as what we get right out of the box. And as I use these minies for a variety of things, having as second and third paint scheme can come in handy.

A Coruscant map would be awesome too! The "glowing cityscape" planet would be a very cool backdrop. +1 !
As a side question, not worthy of another thread...
Do you think that the X wing and the U wing, because of this expansion, will be the only two ships in 2.0 to get a "double release" with alternative paint schemes?
No need for upgrade releases now to buff underperforming ships...
I will get it! The U-Wing is fun to fly, and I really like the new paint schemes! 2.0 uprade being built in is just an added bonus!

Not necessarily. There's a lot they can fix with the app, true, but it's still possible to get a situation that requires an upgrade for a particular ship to fix it. Also, there are only so many ships they can pick from the movies. Alternate paint schemes (plus new upgrades) are a way to pad out a Wave, if nothing else.

I see it in the 2.0 world as being a sign of what's next, releasing aces-style or even new individual remodellings (like th Y/X/Firespray touch-ups) that have new pilots. So double and even triple releases of popular ships. That way they can basically re-release the entirety of all the ships in the conversion kits but still make money because it's a different paint/model and there are brand new pilots/must-have upgrades.
It's about the only good option they have as almost all but the most obscure Legends/EU ships are in the game. And the new resistance/first order era isn't as popular as the classic film eras plus everything is massive in that era haha, so I can't see too many new additions there.
But it's time FFG, unleash the Clone Wars as their own format and factions!

Not to mention, now that Resistance and First Order are their own factions, they can't just use those to expand the Rebel and Imperial options anymore.
NO
Yes. YES. YES.
Lets count the reasons why
1. Flappy Wings...no seriously this is important
2. Partisan Paint scheme, been wanting to get a U-wing and T-65 painted as one but this saves me the hassle.
3. More T-65 pilots and some more offensive based U-wing pilots? Yes please.
4. Making Heff the Bump Master, Ion Projectors and Anti-Pursuit Lasers anyone?
5. Lets me fly 5 T-65s in a standard match, also drooling at the idea of them in Epic.
6. Related to 5, lets me fly every T-65 pilot now for cheaper. Wedge before this with VI/FA/IA was 31 points, but now with Renegade he is only 28, I now have so much more leg room for list building involving X-wings and U-wings.
7. Saw Gerrera. Pilot and Crew. So many ideas with this guy, crew for R2-D2 Norra(been a FGD believer for a while) and even as a squadmate with PTL Norra, those deliclious rerolls.
8. I am a Rebel player, nuff said.
9. Thematic purposes sprinkled in here and there, thinking of a squad involving Rex, Ahsoka, and Saw for example.
10. It is a 1.0 AND 2.0 expansion.
Please note this is not ALL the reasons, just ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Edited by KiraYamatoSFAlready on pre-order. I'll have it the day it arrives at my FLGS.
I bought it for the fixes in 1.0 since it will still work until our local scene switches to 2.0 in September, because I like U-Wings, because I like the paint schemes, and because I'm excited to get my hands on the first 2.0 stuff. Seeing it on a computer screen is one thing - I'm looking forward to seeing the look and feel of the new dials and such in person.
I check the "Upcoming" tab at the top of this page every day, to see if its status has switched from "On the Boat" to "Shipping Now". Can't wait to get my hands on it!
I have a feeling a lot of people here missed that the new wave comes with both 1.0 and 2.0 content. I'll be getting both sets. The tube brother combo looks delicious.

Oh I get it. It’s just that the conversion kit comes with s-foils, pivot wing, new pilots. Thus the choice isn’t centered around a fix, but other 2.0 content (pilots, upgrades, paint scheme, etc.) and also the ability to upgrade 1.0 in the meantime.
Are there any previews of the Saw 2.0 stuff? Have I missed an update?
Yes!! I want that paint job and some flappies S-Foils to play with...
I'm gonna keep a few Rebel ships from my collection as we convert to 2nd Edition- I'm a S&V player. I just wanna have a nice little Rogue-One/SW:Rebels fleet on standby. (Hopefully I can find someone who wants to part with a few things from the Rebels Conversion Kit)

There’s been games on team covenant using the Two Tubeses and we have the Saw alt art from the Q2 kit. Not an actual article though.
Looks like 2.0 Saw won't be very good though. Works up to R3 but only against damaged ships ?
I want them for the paint job, so i'm getting them
plus I only have 3 x-wings so this + 2.0 core gets me 5. But maybe not enough of the generic from renegades to actually use 5
I was already considering passing before 2.0 was announced. I didn't want a second U-wing and didn't need another X-wing. Since I'll have to get a core for 2.0 that will have an additional X-wing and the conversion packs will have the card fixes, there is even less reason to get this. I'll be missing some pilots, but for me the price point isn't worth it just for those pilots.
One of the other reasons is that X-wing isn't the only game I play now. I've started playing Legion and have been much more focused on that, especially with all the painting. I can wait a little longer for my X-wing fixes since I see the summer being devoted to Legion more than X-wing.
I am excited for the Reaper, though.

His 2.0 ability is when a damaged friendly ship fires. Considering modifications are harder to get and everything has less shields in 2.0 this ability seems pretty good.

This right here. I get new pilots and options for the First-to-Second Edition transition period? And the paint jobs are cool, to boot? Yep, there goes $40, no question.

Haha, that was actually what I meant. I agree that it won't be trash (it's really amusing looking around and seeing how many people are calling LITERALLY EVERYTHING in 2.0 trash because it isn't up to the 1.0 power creep). I just wish it didn't require shields to be gone; it won't work for very long, and if the enemy focuses fire properly, it would only work on one ship at a time ?
