I know positive thoughts are against the idea of this thread, but... Why would you think that? A generic x7 defender is 28 points. They just got more action choices, a shield and slightly better dial and most likely their secondary weapon slots back. No way in **** is that worth 6 (or 11) points.
However... possibly there is no ini 1 generic... in THAT case things become complicated since I think that a glaive with those benefits is worth 34 v1 points, compared to a lowly unchanged tie at 12.
Still, given the sienar analyst i am confident you can still fit 3 generic defenders in a list. However, I think 2 + ace will be the better list. Oh, and did I mention my favorite v1 archetype was 2 defenders plus an ace?

I'll wait till the whole enchiladas ingredients are known and friends say they taste great before I buy in; we just got our 1.0 Pint Games rules right; I'd hate for us to have to fix 2.0 for FFG before it's even tourney legal... we do have some kinda pride around here.

maybe they will spoil all the ship and upgrade costs for 2.0 before the app hits and we can actually start planning out what squads we'd like to run in 2.0.
im a casual player who infrequently attends tournaments. Like most of the community here I'm bracing for the impact to my wallet to get my 1.0 collection tourney legal for 2.0
with so many changes (essentially a new game) its going to take weeks if not months to wade through the dust and figure out what new squads you want to play.
I'm thinking the best course of action is to buy nothing and pre-order nothing until the game state settles down. There is still way to many variables about 2.0 that we can only make guesses at. Numbers of generics/cardboard inserts included in the conversion kits, number of dials for each ship. Then we have to test out the new 2.0 rules.
The game is entering hyperspace and the final destination is still a little fuzzy.
