Vitality tokened Rune Golems... dajumn ?
Yeah, THERE'S the fix the Rune Golems needed, at last.
And he gets to hand them to allies .... I found that wording, interesting.
Seems solid enough. Curious as to what his upgrades are
AAAA! RUNECOW!
And the long (short) awaited Golem buff. It looks like Daqan can get a pretty good healing engine going (Hawthorne rallying off Zachareth's healing stun). Golems are going to be a lot scarier. I'm surprised they didn't reveal a dial though, it'll be interesting to see how that runecow moves.
Also really interesting looking deployment... and terrain that looks like a bunch of tents? It looks like one of his upgrades replaces red dice with white dice and vice versa...

Oh, you rolled an accuracy? That's cute.
I wish they'd say more on what the mounts are in these posts! Maybe it's just 'rune-steed', but that doesn't quite cut it, they're good at not giving us much info on the steeds!
Very cool release though, these mounted and unmounted combo packs are useful gaming kit and I'm liking the 'savior or betrayer' aspect- great icons for that too, it's interesting that they've kind of switched his allegiance if you opt for 'savior', he's a lieutenant rather than a hero in Descent.
When we get the dragons maybe they could build on this unmounted/mounted option by having the three options of dragon without rider, dragon with rider and rider unmounted- dragon pieces don't usually have that flexibility so it could be quite a neat way of doing dragons.
I'm 100% convinced in the grand scale of things there will be dragons

I agree with the second part, but it's worth noting that Terrinoth dragons aren't the sort of dragons that let people ride them
We shall have dragonkin riding other dragons.
While helping Golems, I still think they need help with consistency.
Hooray for rune golems!

Yup. In Genesys RPG that would probably be at least a formidable if not an impossible riding check- unless you had something that made you more able than most!

That's a great way to boost Rune Golems

I wonder if they were planning this from the start? The game is still less than a year old right?

Seems like a reactive move to bring the RGs more in balance with how the other siege figures play.
I'm still more excited for vitality tokens on figure upgrades. Ever since the Latari and X-bowmen came out, accuracies are the bane of some of my best laid plans.

We just passed the 1 year birthday in April.
I'm liking his dynamic ability choice in the game. Gives you flexibility for the scenarios / opponents lists.

It's probably impossible to say for sure without the exact wording, but how confident are you that they can save figure upgrades? Are you just thinking for times when the figure would be the only casualty?

As you say, impossible to say for sure, and bearing in mind that these rules articles always get at least one thing hilariously wrong but... if the vitality tokens function as this claims
QuoteWhen a unit in possession of a vitality token would suffer one or more wounds, this new type of boon token can be spent to reduce the number of wounds suffered by one!
It seems legit to me.
Figure upgrades suffering wounds is just an allocation of a wound dealt to a unit, and if the whole unit benefits from the vitality token, I can't see any reason that token couldn't be spent to ignore the accuracy'd wound.
It's going to depend on the precise wording of Vitality Tokens, for sure. It's possible that dealing multiple wounds would override this, or it's possible the defender can pick which wound is ignored.
oh Look, Hawthorne has competition for chief cheerleader. I’m enjoying that the difference in how they do it means so much. Hawthorne gives inspiration, which gets you around Ravos’ ability and gets units ready for independent action. Zachareth causes a full rally, which likely doesn’t bank anything once in combat.
Bannerscamp is gonna be funny against him
Hawthorne + Baron is a lot of inspiration!
(and +vitality to Might of Daqan Hawthorne would also be legit)

Rgr, see you then. ?♂️
So you hand vitality to your Rune Golems and a vitality to *THIS* guy so he can actually survive long enough to juice them up? Going to be interesting to see if the timing actually affords that or not (since accuracy allows you to spend a wound right?) And one damage is pretty easy to come by.
