whats the builds most people are using for these guys?

Mine currently is: DLT-19 Ster + Targeting scopes 74pts { 5 man squad }

Usually try to take at least 4 squads.

Would ye recommend added the 6 guy?

Better upgrade to use then the scopes?

68 points: 4 man unit with a DLT. Done. They can sometimes make use of Concussion grenades, but they really shouldn't be in a position to use them most of the time. Generally I can find better things to spend points on. The 6th man isn't terrible, but he mostly comes in to fill gaps after I've taken everything I really want.

I was rocking 4-mans with a DLT-19 and Targeting Scopes but after advice and play I decided to lose the scopes. You're already getting 3 re-rolls with precise, 4 is good but not terribly necessary and with offensive surges you may find times where you have more re-rolls than dice that need to be re-rolled. Doing that nets me an extra 24 points.

That's essentially the drawback on most of the Corps upgrades. The upgrades themselves are priced okay, but you really need to have a plan if you're only going to put them on 1 or 2 of your 3-6 units. Most of the time they wind up adding up to 4-5x the printed cost, which is enough to put something more impactful in instead.

Ditch scopes. With precise, Stormies already have 3 rerolls. Even if you have a fully bulked up unit, that is 50% of your dice you can reroll. Conceivably you'll land a hit or two, so it's unlikely you'll get to use your Targeting Scopes often. Especially once your units start getting picked off.
