Is there any reference of any non Dark Side, non Sith Alchemist group in the Canon or Legends Universe, aside of the Je’daii Scince Temple? I wanted to use/create as an alternative to the healer without the Darkside, Sith affiliations...
Alchemist Traditions
From what I recall, Legends painted Alchemy and Sorcery as almost exclusively Dark Side, because of it's manner of using the Force to change the nature of things. Recall Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith , "The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural." That kind of twisting and changing what something is , even with the best of intentions, is still perverting the natural order for one's own ends.
But that's just what I remember, I'm far from an authority on that aspect of the Force.
Well there are the Nightsisters, who are not really called Dark Side Force Users in the canon, because they like to claim that they use Magicks and not the Force. They certainly use alchemy several times in the Clone Wars cartoon. Canonically, the powers associated with Magick are connected with the Dark Side. However, the Nightsisters are kind of doing their own thing and don't necessarily strive for the same goals and ideals as the Sith.
Weren't there two factions of "Witches" on Dathomir, and the Nightsisters were the unequivocally evil ones?

Depending on the source of Legends information you obtain it from, there could be several factions or really just the one faction.
It all starts with a Jedi exile named Allya crash landing on Dathomir, teaching the women to use the Force to obtain power and subjugate the men.
From there, either there are many factions (such as the Daughters of Allya) or just the one, the Nightsisters.
In the canon, the only groups shown are the Nightsisters and the Nightbrothers.
In Legends, I can't think of a single instance where it's not referred to as Sith Alchemy, unless you go all the way back to pre-Old Republic era (~25,000 BBY/Dawn of the Je'daii timeline), when there was no division between Sith and Jedi. Then it's just; Alchemy, with various disciplines (Alchemy of the flesh - from healing the body to making zombies and homonculi, metallurgic Alchemy - improving weapons and armor, alchemy Alchemy - tinctures and poisons, etc.). And even then, using it for anything other than healing was considered to be putting yourself in great danger of falling out of "balance" with the Force.

There were multiple clans of Dathomiri witches, the Nightsisters were the Dark Side clan, and was primarily made up of exiles from other clans who had fallen to the Dark Side, along with their descendants.
As for canon, while all we see is the Nightsisters and Nightbrothers (the males of the clan), that does not discount the possibility of the other Light Side clans living on other areas of the planet.
Thanks for your feedback guys!
Since one of my players want to just play a “witch doctor/ shaman” healer using the Alchemist path as an alternate path to the healer. She’s not interested on extending her life and creating aberrations or Sith mutations, I guess I have some options:
Let the player be part of a non dark sider/ Sith force user sect like the dathomiri witch sect or Jensaarai for example...
Or start as runaway from an established force user sect, like the Inquisitors or Knights of Ren.
The jensarri might qualify, they alchemically crafted armor but while not being darkside they are a Sith + jedi offshoot.

Excellent idea. I forgot about them. There is some information around about them that I can use, shame that they weren’t included in the Consular book. I guess they only wanted Canon info. ?
Edited by NhekoYou know I also forgot about the Bendu (entity) of the Rebels series, and can use it as a catalyst to generate our own Force Tradition, and use silver lightsabers like Ashoka to imply that they’re not Sith or Jedi...
The Fallanassi of Legends would be another light side Force user sect; they called the Force the "White Current". Their specialty was illusions more than alchemy, but it is possible. The Baran-Do are also generally aligned with the light side though not technically Jedi. And in Old Republic legends you also have the Jal-Shey, who were very similar to the jensaarai.
And all that assumes your player even needs to be part of a tradition. She could also just be someone who realized she could use the Force to Heal, and her fellow villagers found it unnatural and were afraid of her, ostracizing her and forcing her to live in isolation in the wild. She turned to Alchemy as a way to more easily survive in the wild off natural herbs and supplies. I have a very similar concept for a Pathfinder or Hermit primary spec with Alchemy secondary spec to create a wilderness healer.

Very nice ideas, indeed. Thanks!
