Lightframe removed?

Honestly, I never ran LWF with Strikers in 1.0. There were too many scenarios where the extra die didn't help, and Duchess would still end up shattering like glass.

The worst was a TLT Ghost with Accuracy Corrector. You roll your attack, cancel all dice, and replace them with exactly two red dice showing hits. LWF is pointless against that.

Considering upgrade slots already vary by pilot (Talent, Force), I wouldn't be surprised.

To be fair, in 1e, the EPT is the only slot that varies by pilot, and Talent in 2e is just the EPT slot from 1e. Force Powers is the EPT slot for force users essentially. On the other hand, new version, who knows?

@PhantomFO The design of the 1.0 Ghost is/was flawed. It is a perfect example of how unfair certain builds could be. I hope all the crazy combos will be behind us in September.

I felt the frustration when I brought out my Strikers and found myself against those awful lists that kept taking the fun out of the game.

But this removes my favorite interaction from the game:

"Is it range 2 or 3? Doesn't matter."

"Is it obstructed? Doesn't matter."

You might have been missing out on dice. An obstructed shot from Dash or a poon sure does matter. 4 greens are better than 3. And what about a range 3 obstructed shot from a ghost primary with either Finn or Jan pilot?

I'm aware of the 4 and 5 dice implications. That would fall outside the scope of my example.

I don’t think it does... ?

From what I understand from many interviews with the developers is that they want to keep the 'roll/add additional die' to a bare minimum. So far we have seen some exceptions of that with Norra in the ARC and Y-Wing. However, looking on how many ships LWF potentially could work I wouldn't assume that LWF would exist in 2e exactly like in 1e, but maybe they will change it to something like 'turn one blank result to an evade result'.

So you're saying 2.0 lightweight frame = 1.0 autothrusters...

I highly doubt that lightweight frame exists in 2e. It made determining the # of defense dice to roll more complicated. It was one of the many stopgap fixes they tried in 1.0.

With the restriction of more attack dice, but It was meant more as a placeholder example as an actual suggestion.

So happy I have a custom painted deci and 2 strikers to start with... hopefully the list can really work in 2.0.
