Last night I was playing X-wing in a store tournament and the last game ended in a stalemate and we determined we should final salvo in the heat of the moment not thinking about any of the rules. Neither one of destroyed each other's ships.
My opponent had 100 points in their list. I had 99 points for mine.
Did we do things correctly or who should of won based on the rules. I have been looking around to see, but I haven't found anything conclusively.
General end of game question
You've played correctly IF
- you didn't have any half damaged big based ships. They give half points if they've got at least half damage
- you've played the full time and made the final salvo after time run out. You're actually not allowed to just say: "hey, wanna final salvo right away?"
And for final salvo (as for calculating score in general) it doesn't matter how much points you have on the board. You only count what you've shot down*. So technically a 47 point Kylo Ren with a 53 point initiative bid wins if he shoots a lowly TIE Fighter and final salvos if he doesn't kill anything (and survives of course). But please don't do that. That makes some very boring games ?
*Except if you kill everything. That always counts as 100 points.
Thanks. This was very helpful and I am glad that we did things the correct way. I will take all the additional supplemental information if it comes up in future games.
