Static Discharge Vanes

By Jagos, in X-Wing

Sorry if this has been spoken about before.

So, two opposing ships with this upgrade meet and are close to each other. Both cannot afford to do straight maneuvers as they would fly off the board. One gets Ion token.

Here comes the funny part.

Static discharge vanes activate, ship transfers ion to the opposing ship and gets stress. Static discharge vanes activate, ship transfers ion to the opposing ship and gets stress. Static discharge vanes activate... you get the point. Nobody wants to keep ion token. The game breaks.

How did it happen that this was not seen? Or maybe I am missing something?

Maybe there's a cap on stress? If you have too many stress tokens you can't continue the cycle. I dunno

Well yes, stress token cap would solve the issue. Will there be any?

have to wait on the core rule book;

I thought so, but the new Hera crew is self-regulating.

Is this a new upgrade? Haven't heard about this one.

what I really want to know is how it interacts with the Poe Dameron only upgrade "Your mom's varicose veins"

I bet it wasn't seen . I think you're right. This will be the first of many ways to break 2e.

Depends if having a token transferred to you = gaining a token.

Where the heck is this upgrade!? Sincerely, a concerned aircraft mechanic.

I don’t remember where I saw it, but it has been spoiled, and does pretty much exactly what it sounds like it does from the commentary in this thread.

Edit, here it is. In the rebel conversion pack full reveal photo dump

Aft of the vortex disruptors. A pair either side of the inboard ailerons, and a further one on the winglet. Pretty sure there's one on the trailing edge of the nacelle, too.

You don't suppose the Falcon has them on the thrust vector array do you? Run into those things like a high wing puddle jumper if your a Wookie.

Also cheers, best response I've gotten to anything ever. Touche, good person. Touche.

Alex confirmed at the weekend, this is supposed to only work when not stressed and will be errated accordingly on release day.

errata before even hits the shelves not good. they could of easily fixed this and any other pointless infinites that showed up in the future by putting in a rule like magic the gathering has, that if you can perform a sequence infinite times you then must choose a number of times that you will do it that turn, thus doesn't take up any time and the game continues on.

A decade of work in MROs will fill you with jokes about thrust reversers and dog boxes. I couldn't resist.

Or they could acknowledge that they just redesigned an entire freaking game, and some minor errors are basically inevitable.

Errata don't bother me. I'd far prefer them to errata stuff when necessary. Not to mention that there are typos they ought to fix as well.

Mistakes happen. They're human. Don't be a jerk about it.

Apply Hera Syndulla rule: stress tokens beyond 3, do 1 damage instead of assign it. ?
