New Lando and New Nien Numb pushing it to the limit!

No Eaden Vrill ...?

Outrider title plus trick shot! Yikes!

Only 3 pilots left on the YT-2400 now :(:( Im guessing they want to add in that child from rebels who pilots it.

New Lando is really good. He actually had a decent ability in 1.0 that was killed by the range 1 requirement. Now with that extended you can be way more flexible. Chewie got the nerfbat, now only once per round.

Ten Numb losing one un-cancellable Crit is kind of a bummer.

I know Frost sort of got his ability in the Firespray, but still ... Eaden was the guy I always tried to make work.

That it works on himself is amazing enough. Plus he's Int 5.

Other interesting notes ...

Shara Bey is the new Norra.
Bodhi and Cassian switched pilot skills
It looks like they are trying to phase out (if possible) the old EU stuff.
Lando is no longer "other friendly ship"
Horton was nerfed ...
Lt Blount is Jesse Pava lite
Gone is not tied to a faction

Is there word on how many of the generic pilots come in the conversion kit? One of each, or as many as there are dials for?

Fenn Rau is still the same ... with the highest Pilot Skill (or whatever they call it now.)

Why's that?

Combination of life stuff and game stuff.

Life Stuff: Finding it hard to get games in person. Have been to one kit tourney and zero casual nights this calendar year IIRC. Have two sons that used to play regularly. One has zero interest and the other is waning.

Game Stuff:

  • Luke Gunner: absolute horse **** that should not exist
  • Dash: I hate his ability so much and they chose to leave it alone
  • YT-2400: Non-unique four dice pseudo-turret. Sounds great!
  • Rebel Fenn: We know he enables all kinds of abusive garbage and they leave him alone?!?!

I'm probably not buying in unless/until a big sale happens or the game is pulling in enough new players that I have a good chance of selling off a number of my old ships with 2nd Ed cardboard to offset the purchase price. I think the designers are talking a good game but looks like it's "meet the new boss, same as the old boss." I'm pretty bummed about it actually.

Just forget to take the picture, I think ?

But Ashoka is replaced by Ezra and no title anymore for Sabine'S Tie

Reading Juke, I became confused. "While you perform an attack, if you are evading...." Am I the only one that doesn't understand how you can evade while attacking? Or, does that mean "If you have an evade token when you attack"?

Also noticed some of the ordnance (Proton Rockets, Advanced Proton Torpedoes that I can remember right now) only have 1 charge. They *are* heavy hitters (plenty of dice), but you only get one shot. Not sure why, but that's a bit of a letdown for me that it's one shot.

Why is Luke gunner a thing...

Dash may be nerfed a bit since he only says 'while moving' this could mean, depending on how the BR rules end up, that he won't be able to roll off asteroids. Still looks like he has to be deathstar levels of points!

Yes, 'if you are evading' means 'if you have an evade token'.

I can get on board with the rest to some extent, but I'd be shocked if you could get more than one 2400 in a single list.

No, we already know from the unboxing stream that 'moving' includes rolling and boosting.

I'm pretty sure Dash is boned if he lands on an obstacle now. No more actions.

I wondered the same thing about Juke.

As far as the 1 charge, there is the reload action that can give you another shot. Maybe the devs want to slow down how often those big hitters can fire?

Fenn was a surprise that he stayed exactly the same, except no range restriction. But I guess large ships not having boost will make a difference as he won't be able to reposition someone big. Also with th tactical officer I'm sure the Empire/Scum will have high initiative coordinate too.

Super sad to see Kanan nerfed. And currently Ezra in Phantom 2 wins for most Ship stat icons with a whopping 6 in comparison to the old 4.

I do like that there are only two turrets now.

Same art too. That is an interesting choice because I think it’s the only card art that is still an unidentified Starfighter in 1e.

The Falcon title has the same thing. "Evading" must mean -- possesses an evade token?

Makes sense. "are evading" would take up less card space than "have an evade token". Perhaps these wording conditions are spelled out in the rules (when we finally get them).

I'm liking it so far, in general. Seems like the devs are exploring the design space offered by Charges pretty well. I particularly like the differences in some of the ordnance and the number of charges they have.

Is it me, or are we missing some pilots here? Some of them don't seem to have all 4 as we would expect: Auzituck, K-Wing and YT2400 for example. I'm also wondering if Mangler and Flechette cannons made the jump from 1st to 2nd edition. Mangler I can understand not being there, since it was the closest cannon to a primary weapon, but the absence of Flechette in general makes me wonder if FFG don't want stress to be weaponised this edition. Finally, love the new Homing Missile - useless against big lumbering targets and therefore a specialised anti-fighter weapon.

I'd complain about Kyle not having any Force capabilities, but that's okay.

Homing missiles is such a cool card now. I love that it forces the defender to push their luck.

Seriously, Homing Missiles are one of the few things I looked at an genuinely felt really excited to try, as opposed to just 'sure OK, that looks good'.
