Especially as the versions of these pilots that appear in the expansion will likely have generics on the other side, would it not be reasonable to assume they'll just use the one printing run?

It doesn't really make a difference what is on the back, you can't field more generics than you have cards for. And what the expansion contains makes no difference either, the cutout is not the one from the expansion, it is it's own cutout.
