Just an issue that I've been thinking about since they announced that the first order and resistance will be their own factions: none of those ships have cannon slots.

FFG could always throw cannon slots on to ships like the BSF bomber for the heck of it, but it wouldn't be thematic. It wouldn't be...cannon (I hate myself).

I'm a big fan of the control cannons and even some of the heavy hitter cannons like the mangler. I'm just not sure how they fit into the ships from the new movies.

Feel free to throw your thoughts into the mix.

Yeah, current stuff for the Resistance and First Order aren't set up for cannons. But, with the new Resistance show coming this fall, that kind of slot gap could be filled up.

They could always just not have ships with cannons for awhile. Not a big deal really.

Indeed. There are no first order ships with torpedoes and no resistance ships with missiles, either (although you'd expect the resistance A-wing would do as and when it arrives).

I could see the Resistance Transport having cannons. It's built out of chop-shopped B-wing Mk.IIs and explicitely packed a heavy laser cannon.

The YT1300 had missiles, but that is now a dual faction (Rebel/Resistance) ship.

Yeah I am looking forward to seeing the other factions get more ships, even though I am cooing down to the Disneyverse movies. I will admit I don't expect much from episode 9 in terms of story. I am actually starting to think these movies are going to be put in the same category as the prequels. That being said just because I don't like the movies, doesn't mean I don't like the ships. Heck I am all for seeing Republic/C.I.S. coming out as their own factions.
