Inquisition Trials

By paul16120, in Dark Heresy

I was wondering if anyone had info on any formal trials where the inquisition was involved. Either background cannon material or GM inspired court room dramas - I'm looking to incorporate a trail in my upcoming Rogue Trader game and this seemed a better place to ask.

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean regular trials in which the INQ is involved, or trials only concerning the INQ?

My group was involved in a 'trial' having been accused of being heretics by an Interrogator. We were found guilty, placed on a firing line and about to be killed, when our Inquisitor showed up at the last minute with his primes (primary agents) to pull our bacon out of the fire. It was a bit trite, but a good tale.

Haven't been involved in any other trials, but we've been scrutinized a ton.

In the Eisenhorn trilogy there are some good examples of an Inquisition trial. One in particular comes to mind where a pack of Inquisitors (to include Eisenhorn) descend on a planet and set up shop in one of the government buildings. They then settle in to hear the cases of literally hundreds of people accuesd of various forms of minor heresy. Many of the Inquisitors are chafing under the monotony and most of the cases are petty at best. Pretty fun sequence to read overall. Second book of the three if memory serves, fairly early in.

Guns of Tanith (Abnett, of course) likewise features a trial via the Commissariate if you want to compare and contrast.

You could always research historical practices of the Spanish Inquisition regarding trials: Yes, for the most part they actually HAD trials! Since this is by far the biggest inspiration for the Imperial Inquisition you really can't go too far wrong here.

Thanks Zilla thats what I was looking for - I figure you can't go wrong using the actual Inquistion but it would be nice to read the 40k take on a Inquistion trial.
