New Article: Begin Engagement
Wow there is absolutely nothing new at all in that, in light of the core set spoilers yesterday.
I don't actually see anything new or relevant in this article. It's just FFG seeing that we're talking a lot about cards that haven't been "officially" spoiled and trying to post an official source for those.
What's really surprising is that despite that, they didn't even "spoil" Luke crew...
FFG better begin engagement with some real spoilers
Edited by ficklegreendiceStill feels like we're just getting filler articles... aimed at new players.
I hope the app and rules reference drop on the same day, some day.
QuoteAfter all, it was a lone T-65 X-wing fighter that destroyed the massive Death Star, scoring a major victory for the Rebel Alliance.
Man, way to crap all over everyone else that sacrificed their lives in that battle. Sure, it was Luke that took the shot, but he didn't attack the Death Star all alone.
Not like our man, Dak. Get ready to suck some Dak!
Wheres my Store Championship news?

It feels like these second edition articles have only contained things that are in wave 1 core set and expansion packs, and not what's in the conversion kits (outside of the initial reveal when they discussed the kits).
Luke would probably be in the eventual Millennium Falcon expansion pack, and that's likely when they would talk about gunner Luke, if ever.

It’s pretty obvious that these past couple articles are explicitly for new players and not for us. I’m not at all surprised that there wasn’t anything new here.
Veteran Gunner -- that's a pretty powerful card isn't it. If you can keep your arc on something not so elusive, you can take your bonus shot on the neighboring arc-dodger?

Yup, very strong. If your arc is positioned correctly (either adjacent to your primary, or maybe even overlapped BTLA4 style) with good flying it can allow you to double tap the same target.
I really like it, it'll reward good flying.

Yo...Dak? You got that backing track?

If your mobile arc is pointed forward in your forward primary arc, and you fire your primary weapon, have you used that mobile arc for the sake of the Veteran Turret Gunner? If the answer is no, I think this is the only revealed way so far that you can attack - and hit - the same target twice.
Nope. If arcs are adjacent and it crosses the line you definitely could do both. Plus Bossk gunner slot is old gunner and Iggy b is the same.
Neither lets you hit twice tho

One could theoretically position one's own ship to catch an enemy in multiple adjacent firing arcs (for example, both the forward and starboard arcs) by landing with the enemy ship straddling the dividing line between them.
One could also theoretically, through very careful positioning, pilot a small-base ship such that an enemy large-base ship is within three of its firing arcs, but I don't know of anything that would make that particularly advantageous.
People not hanging constantly on the forums and watching every little unboxing or desperately seeking polish spoiler get some news.

FFG better begin to hand out trench run and other scenarios
instead of just speaking about it.
This article has less content than the Krayt April Fools episodes.

You can get a ship on the corner of your arcs and attack from both. Easier versus large ships obviously. This was a nice skill to learn flying Ketsu to tractor beam with you mobile arc to the side.

Understood. But outside of this literal edge case, Vet Turret Gunner on a Y or similar turreted ship with a primary arc offers the only double-hit double tap on a single target that we have seen so far. Notably, the YT-1300 so far has no way to do this.
