No problem! It was a great suggestion. I don't know why nobody had mentioned it before. Or maybe they did and I just missed it.

I think Aetheriac or I may have in the past, but I think the offensive mouse-drawn 'solution' image made it pretty clear (and probably made you want to purge that ugly image from your mind with the nice layout :) )

Jukey and I tried out the Devouring Maw card and (only over two games) it doesn’t do all that much.

Game 1: I had 2 2x1 Threshers with DM. DMaw healed 1 wound. Admittedly, Jukey pulled off an impressive double flank charge at init3 with Martial Maegan and a 1x2 Leonx (it had been hit earlier) to wipe out one of those from fresh in a turn. The other took 12 damage, healed the remaining figure to full health, and then didn’t take any more damage.

Game 2: I had a full 6 tray with embedded Ravos. It healed two wounds. It’s a bit wierd as the 6 tray does so much damage that it doesn’t sit engaged very long in any one spot to rack up melee attacks and heals.

Side note: I can’t say that I am impressed with my only attempt at embedded Ravos. I guess Precise 1 did finally pay off around turn 7. He kind of feels like a figure upgrade intended for a different siege unit.

I see what you did there.

Interesting write up. I'm glad to see you tried two different configurations of Scuttlin- I mean Spined Threshers. It's so cheap that it seems like foolishness not to include it, but maybe it is pretty luck-based. Even if you do face waves of weak units that only feed the maw, there will be rounds you attack but have no wounds to heal because you just lost a figure, and the remaining figures are full health. It reminds me somewhat of Lingering Dead on Reanimates, because keeping trays has the potential to allow you to heal wounds you otherwise wouldn't be able to. The key difference is that Lingering Dead keeps your threat and rerolls up, but the trade off is it's rune-dependent.

I'm curious to see the other unique.

lol. Ravos is just an independent soul and a freewheeling hungry guy ....

He's waiting for his Obscene buddies. Then he's going to DEVOUR! Actually, he probably needs them less than they will need him. It will make for some interesting decisions.

It's not all that impressive, but in a game I played with Uthuk it did save my Spined Threshers from Obsequium's (sp?) Gauntlet.
